Traveling through the desert from Morocco to Algeria
The first time I went was in Algeria in 1976. After passing through France and Spain are entered via Algeciras in Morocco with my historical Dyane 6, accompanied by the beautiful lady who would become my companion for every trip, but above all my wife. In Algeria, we entered the border and then down to Figuig Colomb Bechar. There were no paved roads, but of course only rough tracks by means of the Polisario military engaged in war. The war has been with us throughout the trip, did not meet European off-road trucks and armored vehicles, but only with legionnaires and soldiers on board the worse for drink from the unforgiving climate and difficult living conditions. I still have a memory that will only take me forever: one evening after having traveled about 700 km below the sun, we arrived in a village where we knew there be a "small hotel" I just arrived collapsed into a deep sleep without even realizing that the hygienic conditions would not even recommend stopping a bug ... The next morning, the one shared bathroom outside the door waiting for me to say the least memorable scene: a column of military ordered of varying heights between six feet and two feet in the middle column and my wife (one meter and sixty 45 kgs) waiting his turn. From Figuig Timinum we reached then go to El Golea on the famous track that combines the mythical with Tunisia - then it was - Tamanrasset. The case is then returned to Italy via Tunisia, where, having finished every economic resource I found myself forced to trade my car radio, however, no longer very functional, with a wonderful tuna sandwich .... P.S. As soon as I can I insert photos, taken at the time, however, that there were no digital so I have to find them and scan them.
