One Wish cultivated since childhood has always been to see the ancient remains of Egyptian culture as well be in the midst of the holy city of Jerusalem. Recently, due to various documentaries seen on television as well the city of Petra (ancient capital of the Nabataean people) in Jordan began to tease me.
Luck had it that while traveling on the Internet for trip planning in the spring shows me an offer I could not lose, the Red Sea at Taba (in the Gulf of Aqaba to the border with Israel) with the additional capability to do these 3 trips beautiful cities mentioned above, do not waste a second and immediately book a flights from Bergamo on April 14 at 12.00. After a quiet arrival in Taba travel in the afternoon and I moved with a bus booked the Hotel as a base, I immediately realize that not Taba and Sharm, is a country with "four" houses, where reigning only a few large resorts and the tranquility, is ideal for those who want to rest and diving, the nightlife is found in all hotels. That evening at dinner I also realize that tourism is almost predominantly Russian and Ukrainian, were only 6 Italians, ideal for people like me who wants to speak foreign languages in a short vacation.
The second and third day we step fully into making beautiful bathrooms hotel in the Red Sea, including waters rich in corals and fish already visible with snorkeling to shore without the need to take boat trips to see them. Even the beautiful swimming pool is filled with sea water that is changed every night. The evening after dinner in the international restaurant you can go to attend various events of Middle-Eastern and then the disco or to smoke a water pipe near the sea.
On what day in the night we left Cairo and Taba assigned the Giza plateau. We were in a minibus in 9 of 12, after 400 km. at about 7.30 we get into full chaos of Cairo, at 8.00 we go to the Giza plateau and start visiting the external and internal Chefrem pyramids, Khufu and Menkaure. Beautiful especially since the early morning shows scenery amazing. Given the pyramids we go to see the Sphinx other great wonder (remember that this is the last of the 7 wonders of the ancient world still visible). At about 12.30 am the guide takes us to the center of Cairo where we go to lunch on a beautiful ship on the Nile, even here many, many photos of the beauty of the landscape. After lunch we go to watch the last stop of the day which is the Egyptian Museum where we are seeing up to 16.00 the most important statues and especially the room where they kept all the objects (sarcophagi and masks) found in the tomb of Tutankhamen ... .. a true wonder. At 16.00's start making a final stop in a shop where they still make the papyri as was done in ancient Egypt and we are given a demonstration in Cairo's start by addressing traffic and 22.00 we're back at the hotel Taba: tiring but beautiful!
The fifth full day rest at sea with friends on popular hotels in this regard I want to thank the company for fun and Teresa, Anna Pino, John and Francis, as well as young persons hotel.
The sixth day to 4.30 hours of the night we leave for Jerusalem, the holy city, after an hour we finally pass through customs (we are 12), and with the first bus left for the Dead Sea (the lowest place in the world, 400 m below sea level) where we arrive at 8.00. Here Ron expects our guide will accompany us in Israel to Jerusalem, we take a bath in salty Black Sea where you can not sink and then leave again. At 10 we are in Jerusalem, here presents itself in a magnificent view, a breathtaking view from the city. We begin our visit to the city looking at different churches, then we head to the Wailing Wall where the fact that it's Saturday (feast of the Jews) a magical atmosphere reigns. After the visit we in the Arab quarter and in the streets of the bazaar where we are overwhelmed by colors, scents, smells, sounds, we enter a restaurant for lunch, finished resume tour along the 14 Stations of the Cross until the church of the sacred tomb Golgotha where we go when we invested a great religion, it seems that every order just celebrated a rite, Orthodox Russia, the arenas, the Franciscans, the Egyptian Copts, the Abyssinians in Ethiopia, the Protestants, a true mystic. We conclude the tour visiting the Jewish quarter and the upper room where the Last Supper took place and where there appears to have been in the tomb of King David, and sacred place for Jews. At 17.00 we take the bus to Taba where once we return at 10 pm.
There is no time to rest that morning at 5:30 we leave for a new and final excursion, that the pink city of Petra ancient Nabataean capital of the populous. By ferry from Taba to Aqaba in Jordan go (which is just opposite), here we find a bus (we are 24th) that leads to Petra, where we arrive at 12:30, lunch at 14.00 and we finally doorstep. After 800 meters of gravel road between the mountains begins sik that is nothing but a split in the rock with a length of about 1 to 1.5 km. and 150 high walls which culminates with the appearance (it was never more apt word) of 'Darling' of the Nabataeans, namely the palace built in the rock pink / red ... .. its incredible beauty! The tour continues with a visit of some royal tombs carved in rock ever, an amphitheater and other votive sculptures, at 17.00 back to the bus where we share returning to Taba for 22.00 hours. Very tiring but wonderful trip!
The last day I spend at the beach until 12.00 then a shower room and having saluted all the friends met at the hotel in Taba where I head to the airport at 17.00 we move to Bergamo.
What say? Holiday beautiful, beautiful places that some do not even have the good fortune to see in a lifetime, but I had the good fortune to see them all in one week!
For those wishing to see the pictures do is ask.
Greetings to all. Aldo
