2003 was a particularly lucky years in terms of travel in fact, having visited London in the early days of the year and having spent a week in the Maldives in the spring, we had chosen to decide our summer vacation until mid-July.
The performance available for this holiday was not long, 8 / 10 days, and then imagine that we would be left in the Mediterranean ... But my desire for an exotic trip was too strong, but where to go with few hours of flight?
As I had not thought of that before: Egypt!
The only doubts concerning our climate that we found in those parts, but after consultations with the tourists on the web (and have obtained a lot of conflicting answers), we decided to take the risk. The hotel was wide availability and our choice was the fallout Savoy Hotel.
Arriving by plane, the landscape below was a certain charm. In fact, over the desolate desert, is by contrast the white spot formed by the construction of Sharm, a rocky mountain range behind the coast hides the sun and the Red Sea, a deep blue color, it breaks on the reef that a surface coat of water.
Down to earth .... in fact there was not as hot but I had expected him, in the following days I realized that some days in my flat are quite another padana suffering here because the thermometer is close to 40/45 degrees during the day but the humidity is nonexistent and is constantly ventilated.
Our hotel was at Shark Bay, a little out of the chaotic center of Sharm. I am not to describe the excessive luxury of this structure, for me its main riches were a privileged view on the island of Tiran, the sun high in the sky all day and every day and ... a haven from plunging submerged pontoon the beach.
Practiced snorkeling at the barrier in front of the beach was really surprising, but not happy, we made two trips to practice this activity that involved a lot. The first was the island of Tiran, at the path you can see various wrecks aground in the reef, making 2 / 3 stops for snorkeling and land on a beach desrta.
The second trip was at the marine park of Ras Mohammed, located in the south of the Sinai peninsula, is the spot where the Red Sea meets the Gulf of Aquaba. The wealth of underwater life and the large rocks overlooking the sea dotted with coral make it one of the best places in the world to enjoy snorkelling and diving.
The evening is very easy traovarsi through the streets of Naama Bay, a miniature Las Vegas in the middle of Sharm. Rooms, nightclubs, restaurants, casinos, lights and a sea of negozzietti around you and, without it, you're already negotiating for the purchase of a papyrus!
The days were passing peacefully and yet something was missing, but sure, we were in Egypt ... it is from when I was a child I wanted to see the pyramids. With a full day excursion by air trovavavmo us in the Egyptian capital: Cairo.
We visited in: The city with the Mosque of Mohammed Ali, the Egyptian Museum and finally the much-longed plateau of Giza with the three pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, Miocerino to finally be face to face with the Sphinx ... wonderful! !
At the end of the trip we were aware that Egypt deserved much more than a quick sttimana; the goal was to return with a patent in order to immergeresi in submerged paradise that hides the Red Sea and sail along the Nile to rediscover the wonders of this ancient people.
