Hello everyone, we are Joseph and Jade and we stayed at Eden Village Watamu Watamu Beach. Wonderful place, comfortable, always friendly and helpful staff, beautiful rooms, wonderful sea, at low tide sand atolls create breathtaking, walks up to the reef are unforgettable and there are many species that can be spotted along the way, including the legendary and very nice puffer! As for the village, good animation soft-intrusive, the good all-inclusive soft and simply divine cuisine prepared by Italian chef. The organization of the village is treated in detail, you're never left alone, the Eden staff is always ready for any eventuality and local staff has in kindness and courtesy, we Italians have much to learn from this wonderful people. Recommended a budget including the cost of travel and several excursions of at least € 2100-2300 to better enjoy the beauties that the place offers. Travel recommend it!
As for hiking, I tell you about a very special person who made our trip memorable, the tour guide or dive, a boy of Watamu thanks to its perfect organization and knowledge that has made us the place to spend unforgettable days . With him we have a Safari 3 days and 2 nights parks Amboseli and Tsavo East, a blue one-day safaris to the mangroves and around the streets of Watamu.
The Safari has been a strong, memorable, primitive, we have seen a flood of animals, including rare to spot cheetah, breathtaking landscapes, sunsets to give the shivers even today when the thought is there, in those moments that never forget. We stayed one night in a tented camp and the other lodges, two different experiences but both of absolute charm. Great credit for the great success of the Safari is a dive, which has satisfied all our demands, such as the Jeep instead of going by bus, which for the success of the safari is very important. And then in the Jeep we were only 4 people, and we've come across where buses were packed in 8! Great driver, who also accompanied us, the legendary Akim, who thanks to his great knowledge of the parks gave us scenes to be framed as a picture of giraffe with Kilimanjaro in background, such as "breakfast" of 4 lionesses intent to savage just killed a buffalo ... creepy! Without forgetting that make us proud to see a cheetah in all its glory has done a great off-piste really approaching a meter ... So if you fancy a safari to remember for ever, rely on the experience and organization to dive and not regret it!
Included in the package with Dive Safaris has taken us even safari blue, another wonderful experience, there were only 6persone on a huge boat with glass bottom to see the bottom, and maybe envy have tried other boats at sea we incorciatore All of our smaller and overflowing with people! We visited the Watamu Marine Park, a paradise for snorkeling where you can see hundreds of different species of fish, then we landed on an island where we had lunch with coconut rice with octopus sauce, fresh grilled lobster, grilled fresh tuna, and lots of fresh fruit ... Everything is absolutely delicious, and the island was really beautiful, flawless organization and in fact this never stop to thank our friend Dive!
A couple of days before leaving Dive took us for a ride in his Watamu, where he lives, and it is there that not only do some shopping (there are many interesting local craft products), feel what it means be in Africa. Walking the streets you see poverty, people living with little or nothing, the children huddled around us for the cookies we'd bought for them ... What moments ... We were very touched when one of them took the hand my girlfriend calling mom or when another has collected from the ground a biscuit which had fallen in the mud, and that I've stopped eating ... Although the locals made me understand that sooner or later that someone else would eat the cookie ... Say no more, but we meditate, meditate really ... Well what to say, Kenya is not just holiday ... Kenya is a treasure, a magical treasure chest where you can observe nature, landscapes, memorable, unique experiences, meet real people and a reality that we know only through television but do not see until my eyes close, you can not truly perceive what is the real Africa ... If you go to Kenya, the heart will remain forever, and like us, just you on the plane back, already feel the need to go back, because when you go in Africa leave us a piece of heart among those places, including the people ...
