Two years have passed now since my first time in Kenya: a wonderful experience that I could not help but repeat this year with my family. We were able to recontact the guide who had accompanied us during a wonderful safari parks in Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo East and Tsavo West (where we saw all kinds of predators: lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, jackals and Lycaon rare). Moreover, two years ago, along with our guide Jammy, we visited the ruins of Gede, Hell's Kitchen, Mida Creek and the factory of the wood. And finally we have done a wonderful beauty in the Blue Safari visiting the Marine Park of Watamu / Malindi. Jammy (his name is Katana Kahindo Henson) is a professional guide, recognized by the Tourism Office in Nairobi, is an extremely gentle, reliable and available. This year took us to visit the golden beach of Che Shale, which lies about 25 km from Malindi, after Mambrui, in the Salinas area Ngomeni. The presence of very small fragments of pyrite makes it really seems that the golden sand! To reach the village you pass through small villages with tall palm trees and reach the beach you cross a small sandy road covered by the covering of the coconut. The beach is a huge crescent around 5 km long. Immediately after our arrival we circandati by children, who stare at us curiously without speaking. We just want to get in touch with them! We spend hours with them fabulous, playing and singing together! By lunch time we go to Robinson Island. To reach the island you need to do a small part of a small rowing boat, to a show because of the oil is no longer possible to cross the channel standing water (as we will return). The ristorande where lunch is a real surprise: it lies directly on the sand, twigs and roots make up the driveway of the restaurant and the walls, tables and chairs are wooden, beautiful flowers were distributed on the tables are laid with great care. The lunch of fresh fish was superb! Outside the restaurant there are comfortable loungers on which to rest, away from the sun and relaxing in a trendy setting.
On the way back, in Malindi, Jammy prepares us a welcome surprise: an encounter with Sammy, the driver who took us two years ago in Safari. We are happy to meet again and remember the good times we spent together.
The next day, Jamma takes us to his village of Watamu and Malindi. Return to that place and see the children grown was very touching. Proudly shows us his home (where he hung on the walls pictures of some of his clients, among them our own) and the room of his children. After visiting the village, each family to distribute packages of flour and sugar. We also thought about the many children (just under fifty) by distributing biscuits, candy and school supplies. Here, too, spend happy hours, singing and playing with the children. Their happiness is contagious and their love towards us moves us. Reluctantly we leave the village and our children and great friends.
Once again we thank our dear friend to Jamma for having given us a unique, authentic and deeply moving.
If you wish to Kenya, its beautiful scenery and local culture, I recommend that you entrust to a professional and experienced guide who is Jamma.
