A wonderful and surprising holiday travel in Kenya.. A week in Watamu
Our trip to Kenya was a wonderful surprise.
The sea, landscapes, animals seen in safari and especially the people will remain in our hearts.
It 's nice to think of a journey and think that certain things you saw and experienced will remain forever!
I Mariaelena and we stayed at Twiga Beach Resort in Watamu and now the Safari Voi Wildlife Lodge in Tsavo East park.
The beach of Watamu where was our Resort, in the famous area called "Sardegna 2" is very beautiful, because in January there are algae, and the beach is white, the very large and shallow lagoon.
The hotel was opened in December 2009 and is very cute.
The Safari Voi Wildlife Lodge is a beautiful hotel on the border of the park, below the bar has an outdoor pond where the animals at sunrise and sunset come to drink ...... the landscape is unique and unforgettable .
Before leaving we contacted a guy from Italy that we had read a lot of good blogs.
As soon as we got called to meet him personally and because we knew our holiday to discover the beauty of Kenya took off.
His name is "Jammy," a boy discreet, friendly, very correct ...... made our memorable trip to Kenya.
With him on the first day we did the Safari Blue in the Watamu Marine Park, which consists of taking a boat trip outside the reef, where among other things, we saw a pod of dolphins, snorkel in the inside the barrier and a nice lunch in a secluded beach with lots of grilled lobsters.
We ended the day visiting the city of Malindi, including its markets and a kind of workshop where sculptures are made by hand with all types of wood.
The second day, again thanks to Jammy, with his friend Dixan we started to make a two-day safari to Tsavo East park.
In our opinion you can not go to Kenya and visit one of the parks ....... seen animals in their habitat are unforgettable, like the Masai tribe who are just outside the park.
It would be worthwhile to stay there much longer and maybe more than one visit.
The last day in the company of Jammy was spent paddling the canoe in the typical Kenyan Watamu lagoon until you reach the reef to swim in open water.
The time runs slowly in Africa, the sun, sea, nature punctuate your days.
Thanks to Jammy we could see everything we wanted in Africa ......
In the sea of Watamu I also did the amazing diving, I did not expect to see so much marine life.
If we make an appointment for our vacation in the wonders of Kenya ........ I'd say that life is too short.
