We recently returned from Kenya, and still the excitement of this holiday does not leave us, and we will never leave us. The adventure begins with departure from Rome Fiumicino on 07/09/2007 and after 9 hours of flight atteraggio in Mombasa. Leaving the airport, accompanied by a very wet day, we rushed to board a bus to our hotel, the Aquarius resort of Watamu. Needless to dwell on the "comfort" of travel .... we are in Africa!! The hotel right in the Swahili style is very nice, the restaurant is excellent (at least for us), we are immediately struck by the friendliness and the availability of staff, then we will discover with joy and envy that the vast majority of the population has this characteristic, combined with smile always present. On a beautiful white sand beach like talcum powder, you can admire breathtaking views, dictated by the succession of the tides, leaving exposed marine treasures of all kinds ... the colors are beautiful and some algae that is not really ruin the landscape, indeed, it creates zones of more intense color. The hotel offers excursions immediately at very high prices do not recommend support for the legendary Beach Boys, do not be fooled, but if you can run on the beach and begin to know these guys, will satisfy you ..... We have entrusted to great Thomas, our beacon illuminating. It 'a boy of 30 years with a pleasant personality and gentle life despite the terrible things have kept, lost his sister to 32 years and is now, not just the mother to care for her 3 grandchildren. Will be happy to introduce you to his family and to carry around to appreciate all facets of his Africa, strong smells, the poverty that reigns all the time, the smiles have been stolen in the street and children who will accompany you throughout the country with the their eyes and outstretched hands to ask for some candy ... Thomas has been our guide on our safari 3 days (Amboseli and Tsavo East), leading infinite expanses of land and sky colors indescribable, making us track down any animal with extreme ease. Always with Thomas, we organized the safari blue, a day in the middle of the Indian Ocean, to breathe a peaceful incredible eating freshly caught lobsters .... Unforgettable. It would be impossible to continue to tell without getting caught by the desire to leave, then the ideal is to tell you to go there and experience this with your eyes. Place yourself in local people without fear or false prejudices, as we have done this and enjoy full immersion in nature.
