Had passed a little over three months but my greatest wish was to review Malindi, his children and his great women, tireless workers. And here I am December 25 at the airport of Elmas, then Rome and then ..... finally Mombasa (arriving in good time thanks to Air Canada) after the vision of a beautiful African sunrise. It takes about three hours travel to reach Mambrui (far from Malindi ten km) where Karibuni staying at villas, beautiful gardens - beautiful beach - management not up to its acclaimed both 4 stars. Everything goes into the background but the sight of Malindi, its colors, its voices, dimostratomi of affection by many friends and found the sight of so many happy kids who poured in all day on the roads because they are also for holiday , schools are closed. The beach opposite the Karibuni is enriched by the presence of so many young teenagers who flanked you, accompany you during your walks, like to talk with you in Italian in order to perfect a language important to their future, but just aware of your interest their language, and transform into many small but excellent teachers of Swahili. In September, thanks to the various trips I had seen truly beautiful places, details and also I had a wonderful safari to Tsavo East safari that, reluctantly, I decided not to take this time but thanks to my tour guide, Kassim Sharrif, now in Meanwhile, a dear friend, I was able to enjoy unforgettable views. Many have lived and the places recommended: Maiungu and his fishing village, the atolls that emerge at low tide, Watamu and the island of love, the beach at Che Shale, Marafa and the island of Lamu. Places delightful and unforgettable days spent in "Sardegna two 'and the' island of love", the languages that emerge sand at low tide where you eat merrily on the beach with rice coconut sauce, grilled lobster and barracuda, great much fresh fruit. But here I am at the beach in Che Shale, otherwise known as the golden beach as characterized by the myriad flakes that shine like gold in the warm sun of Africa; eccomi Marafa a village in the hinterland of Malindi, known for its cultivation of pineapple and a canyon fantastic rocky reddish and yellow gold at sunset to reverberate incredible colors and shades. Here I am, after two hours by car and ten minutes by boat to Lamu, an island surrounded by so many other small islands rich in mangroves, but without words, time has stopped Lamu. There are no cars, the only means of transport is the donkey, there are no roads but many people live happily, we all know, we greet, chat, and many small children playing happily immersed in their incredible poverty but also great wealth. Do not know our hectic, everything is under the pole pole, what we have to learn! I wanted to spend those days with much more slowly but inexorably January 6 was at the door, the morning air I realized that, while living in a beautiful island, my heart remained in Africa, Kenya, Malindi from a " My "children and many friends from the popular, always ready to give you a free smile.
If you are planning your next trip, remember to consider the destination as Kenya and certainly you will not regret it, do the safari, a journey of discovery not only of many animal species but the discovery of our self deeper.
