NÁKUPENDA Kenya
Finally after much trying, I managed to find a really beneficial and I crowned my dream to return to Kenya, this time of the angel's MAMBRUI bay, north of Malindi.
We left in four, me, my husband and my children of 13 and 15 years, from Bologna, we flew with Neos and we arrived in Mombasa after a quiet flight to 6 hours of January 7.
This time the impact was not as traumatic the first time, I knew already and what was the frenzy to revise my old friends, the year before known to WATAMU was really great.
To travel 120 km, the distance between Mombasa and MAMBRUI took more than three hours, given the dramatic situation of the roads in Kenya, in fact, one can not say that they are rough, there are real chasms and drivers are really skilled zigzag and try to avoid the hole deeper, but who knows if the government of President Mwai Kibaki, will think of using taxes to the entry of tourists to accommodate the traffic of the country?
The Angel's bay of MAMBRUI, managed by Reliance, it's a nice complex, clean and orderly: the rooms are spacious, albeit somewhat 'Spartan, the food is good, maybe there's too much choice, but the fish is excellent and fruit something unforgettable, to only think about it, I still mouth-watering.
The bay's dell'Angelo feature is to appear on a wonderful beach, long and almost deserted, sprinkled with flakes of gold brought by Sakaki river which flows nearby, you can reach on foot and you can see the hippos that live there and paddle in the water, near the mouth of river.
We have hired two quads and we had a wind like mad on the deserted beach, admiring the sand dunes, to increase flight flocks of seagulls, rolling in the sand of the famous "Golden Beach", where you really l ' impression of walking on gold and for swimming in the "porporina" who use children to do their jobs Christmas!
The sea is always a MAMBRUI some 'slight, because there is no coral reef, and because it is a very windy area, nearby is the beach of Che Shale, the only place on the coast of Kenya where it is possible to kite-surf but the transparency of water depends on the flooding of the Sabaki River, which crosses the savanna and pours into its waters. During our stay we saw the improvement, the first few days, the water was red at the end, since it is not raining, it was already as clean and transparent.
For this reason, the angel's bay depart daily shuttle to WATAMU, where the sea is fantastic and Malindi, for those who want to go shopping or live the experience of living in the city.
Here too, it was a wonderful holiday, made so by our magical friend Dasha, beach boy at WATAMU, despite the distance that has been done in four to make us see places and meet wonderful and unforgettable people treated us as friends and not merely tourists.
The first day in WATAMU, will be unforgettable for me, the appointment before the Barracuda Inn, there was only my beach boy, but all his friends came to greet me or know me in person, with their feet we crossed a WATAMU, where we went to the agency is now working on our "black child", we stopped to chat with those who had met the year before, then we went of the island, beach paradise, where at low tide , emerging languages of sand so white glare and you can walk for hours in the low, hot and full of colorful fishes. Here, our friends, in the blink of an eye have organized for us a beautiful grilled lobsters and prawns, with rice, coconut and a mint and pineapple succosissimo, then we expected that the tide would rebound with a wooden canoe mango, we did see the palm coast trip, from the sea.
We did the safari to Tsavo East and this time, given the abundant rainfall of the month of December, we found a green savannah, all flourished with mushrooms,
For this reason, we have seen fewer animals than last year, there were puddles of water everywhere, but thanks to our great driver of our Ring and Dasha, driving through the eyes of hawk, we could still admire a lot, but above all we have seen the cheetah that was aimed some gazelles unaware of the danger, the lionesses who reposed beneath the acacia trees, but when they saw two zebras who run Playing around, they tried to catch up but without success, fortunately, to have better buffalo that were a bath, the hippopotamus, the warthog and obviously many elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons and myriad colorful birds.
We stayed at the Lion Hill and from the top of the hill, and observed a beautiful starry sky, we heard the roars of the lions, just below us.
But the best thing to do was contact with local people, returning from the safari, we stopped at the Moi Hight School in Taita, reunited for Omar, the brother of our beach boy, from Italy to help in the studies, it is was a really touching moment: We were greeted by the school that has accepted us as we were the real parents, he showed us the quaderni ordinatissimi and clusters where we have seen that the results are excellent, then we did see that we are perfectly up to date with the payment of fees and here the credit goes to Dasha, who just send money orders for payments, then after visiting the institute, we greeted and here we have cried, because see that with little effort we can ensure the education of a young man eager and willing to change his life there was filled with joy.
On the way back we saw where they filmed the movie "My Africa", a corner of Kenya with palm trees that stretch as the eye can see, here they come, in fact, the coconut trees that from Kenya are exported all over the world , we stopped in the villages that we met on the road, leaving the children, what we brought with us, clothes, stationery and food and we were thanked with a smile that will not forget them again.
But the moment that will remain forever engraved in my heart was when, the day before leaving, Dasha, our guardian angel has come to take for us to WATAMU to know his family: we were welcomed into their home, as relatives who have come from afar, we knew the grandmother, the mother who has embraced me so strong that it take away the breath, sisters and nieces, there were great speeches, but the words were few, but their smiles and their intense eyes I felt all the affection and gratitude towards me. Then we went to the beach, in front of the Barracuda Inn to greet all our friends there and we had the honor to know Esther, the bride of my beach boy, the boy who made me fall in love with this wonderful land and consider that my third child and the small Abu, his puppy man that I and my husband we cuddled and held in her arms as if it were our first grandchild.
Here, after this meeting, where I was excited to see what I thought was just a kid, so be attentive and affectionate with his son, I decided that as I will help this beautiful boy, who loves
