The Kenya I always creamed.. Trip to western Africa
We have organized this trip, planning to live outside the villages, and our expectations were fully answered! We used to travel do it yourself, and also wanted to try for Kenya.
The idea was to book a flight on our behalf, then do a bit of safari and beach days to rest, but at the same time to turn, seeing and knowing.
Contacted various organizations, John has created a good feeling. It 'was clear, precise, has been able to even tell us no to requests that might seem to us easy to do, but explaining the difficulties in being able to put into practice.
We had a little 'fear to entrust to a person totally unknown to organize our trip. But, after reading so much, and after several emails exchanged, we decide to do it! So we arranged a safari with him is that the Watamu resort. Basically we thought the flight from Italy, he of the rest.
Once agreed the trip, we sent an advance, sent us a receipt, as we had booked, then came the moment of departure.
Arriving in Nairobi we found waiting for us outside the airport. He delivered a sim of Kenya, so we could call spending very little. Before leaving for the safari, we were advised to change a little shillings in euros, so we would not have problems if we wanted to buy something during the safari. We are so off on our safari: Masai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo East.
Already the landscape we encounter as we go to the park is a spectacle. The colors, people, children dressed in school uniforms. The remote villages. Everything you take the heart. Then here is that we have come to the park. What can I say, something boundless prairie, wild animals that graze peacefully, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes. We did not know where to look. John told us that the migration was over, but honestly we did not care. But the thought was immediately, but if it is right now, who knows what heaven will be during the migration. We stayed 3 days at the Masai Mara, we saw lots of animals (lions with cubs, my dream) cheetahs. After this park, we started to go Amboseli, here the landscape is different, there are many elephants, many many. Here too, luck helped us, and we saw 2 cheetahs who hunted, and passed right by our jeep. Or as John says: under the tire. Here we slept under the Kilimanjaro, how nice it is! The last stop was Tsavo safari, at the entrance we went to a place where there is a whole hill of rock, and we climbed on foot. We had all the savannah below us, as far as the eye can see. John all the safari has never tired of answering our many questions, it's always been kind and helpful. At the end of the safari, we arrived in Watamu, and brought us here at the resort we had booked. Spartan, but clean, with a beautiful garden, large rooms, right in the town center, close to the beach. We stayed there for 7 days, the staff always friendly, helpful, they prepared some super eat fish! At this point, we said, we did 30 31, so we made arrange safaris blue (called so because I think the blue sky is thrown into the blue of the sea) then we went to the canyon Marafa, and here the colors are red, yellow, orange, pink, beautiful. And one day we went to visit Mombasa. Well I did not think it deserved. Chaotic, but there are several things to see, things that we had no idea, cathedrals, an old Portuguese fort, the Indian temples. Deserves it. We also went to various beaches in the country, I assure you, is a sight.
So it's time to leave, the holiday is over, John takes us back to Mombasa for our home. It 'was a wonderful holiday, thanks to him, which has always been present without being intrusive. Dear, discreet, attentive, friendly, fun and professional!
