The Kenya of Omar Nero.. My trip to Malindi and surroundings
We started to Malindi January 1, 2010 and stayed at the Flamingo Villas, a small resort just south of Malindi. Although they are not lovers of holiday villages here the climate was rather familiar, thanks also to the Italian (Star of Rome) that used to delight every dinner with Italian dishes cooked at our house (amazing lasagna!). From Italy, thanks to a friend (Lille Jack Bikers, Vigevano known local cuisine with a Tex-Mex) we contacted Black Omar, our guide made us live beautiful emotions during our first African safari short and intense. We saw lots of animals due to its driving experience and his dedication to this work. We crossed the Tsavo East park, staying at Voi Wild Life Lodge (very good), and the next day we started toward the Amboseli, where we stayed at the camp Kibo tented camp at the foot of Kilimanjaro, where you sleep in tents furnished with all the comforts of a hotel room (bed, shower and toilet included). Speaking with other tourists we found that not all excursions (especially those booked through the "classics" tour operators) allow to live and see the reality of Africa. With Omar emotions are insured, we passed through and visited Kenya and Masai villages in contact with children and people that animates these places only poor but rich in smiles, colors that have made us understand how these people, unlike us Westerners are solar as their land. Omar took us to his village where he lives with all his people (his father is the village head), half Christian and half Muslim, in a peaceful and civil promiscuity. With him we have also made the safari blue bellissisma a trip to Malindi Marine Park where, exploiting the phenomenon of low tide you can stand on an atoll to see the starfish and to enjoy a superb grilled lobster, shrimp and of 'good sailfish.
