We left at 4 am, my husband and my children of 12 and 14 years, the choice was almost forced since we later decided to book ...
We arrived in Mombasa after 8 hours of flight, fortunately night, with Air Canada.
The impact was not the best, there was a terrible heat and the sight of so much poverty has left us stunned.
After about two hours of bus, on a road across holes and checkpoints, we arrive at Barracuda Inn, Watamu of, the village is very nice, the rooms are spacious and clean, the kitchen is excellent, the only ones in the are the operators of the internal arrange excursions and make dicendoti terrorism in all sauces wary of beach boys and the director of the Barracuda, an Italian gentleman who acts as a master father.
The Barracuda is situated on the beautiful beach of Watamu, here the sand is so white that dazzles and creaks under foot as if it were snow, is an unforgettable sensation. Another phenomenon is the great tides that alternate every 6 - 7 hours creating natural swimming pools atolls and then swallow it again.
Just arrived on the beach we met Dasha, a wonderful beach boy who has enchanted us with his love for Kenya.
Fortunately we trusted and we did all the trips with him, it was wonderful: we had a bath with the dolphins, scoured mangrove forests, admiring the flamingos, visited villages of the Interior, made the safari to Tsavo East, etc.. etc. ....
It 'been a wonderful and unforgettable vacation, among other things our Dasha, has enabled us to know Elena, an Italian girl who now lives in Watamu and rent his house to tourists, so almost certainly come back to that paradise.
A tip for those who go in those parts, brought something to those children, cookies, candy, T-shirts, pens, colored pencils and notebooks, have almost nothing and you rewarded with smiles moving.
Also for my children, who have been an unforgettable experience, were able to touch live as millions of children like them.
