Watamu, Safari, Sea... Giovanni and the marvels of Kenya

Our first week in Kenya.
Off the plane in Mombasa, we were assailed by the scents, smells, and the African heat.
Catherine, the family photographer, began shooting just outside the airport.
The trip to Watamu was more of a "do not do this do not do that."
We rather like to explore, talk to people, "try" to see how you live in a different place.
The village chosen was the Aquarius Watamu, mainly because the individual was free!
Comfortable rooms, with a nice big bed, ceiling fans. The village is divided into blocks, not on the beach, but this is fine, two steps to reach the sea we do just fine. A beautiful garden, salt water pools, we were fine.
Inside the village, however, we were really little.
Watamu is a country that really turns a nothing, a small, but alive.
The great morning or afternoon walks on the beach, if there was low tide we went in the other lagoons passing over the islands that are in front of the beach. Bring your rubber boots! really need, and you get the beautiful walks.
The bb beset you when you leave the village, but we found that, saying he had already fully booked, or if I was alone with my wife who wanted to take a romantic walk alone leave us in peace!
I never did do many romantic walks to Matilda as this year!
Bought a little 'souvenir stalls on the beach, flip flops, masks in the country. we all greeted with a jambo, a how are you? (Children, the greetings are really long) and then turned to the "Newcomers" ...
Safari: having only one week available, we chose to
2 days Tsavo East
E 'already on the way to get to the beautiful park. This road, which changes color as you approach the park, and there begins the red color of the earth, which meets the blue sky is really fantastic! We saw many animals, elephants, many, all of the red earth, zebras, buffaloes from the edge of the road watching us almost sad to see us tourists with cameras trained on them. Hidden in the grass a lioness with two cubs.
Here, inside the bus no one spoke, to see those puppies so small it was something that I can not describe. Never would have expected to see them there.
We also spent an entire day to the mangroves. Here is very special in the way of the channels with their canoes.
For the safari and the tour we have chosen John consigliatoci before leaving, has a website and works with a local agency. It's not a beach boys

The days have gone faster, including safaris, tours, walks through the village, stopping to talk with people, watching the kids playing in water, families strolling on the beach on Sunday. The birth of a new day sitting on the beach.
A "dinner" with the skewers on the grill, always a chicken on the grill, saporitissimoooo, the stalls on the street in the center of Watamu, accompanied by a kind of flatbread, (which the cooks were Romagna?) Sitting on a bench, with a dim light, it was nice.
So, our week has flown. And we're back with the idea to come back soon!
