June 30 House-Milan Departure at 20 Tana
The aircraft of Air Madagascar Party with 4 hours of delay. We paid 2350 euros for the trip into two round-trip and three domestic flights. Apart from this incident, the company will prove to be efficient, the staff will demonstrate professionalism and meals will be good enough.
July 1 Tana
We arrive in Tana where we can expect our leadership with whom we have contact from Italy via the Internet. Mahery speaks Italian, French and English. Accommodation at Sakamanga where the food is excellent. The room, 25 euros, is within the country. In the evening we turn to the city and do our first close encounter with vendors and beggars.
July 2 Antsirabe
In the morning we leave at 8 am with the driver, who Mada is required if you use a private car. Not recommend the taxi-brousse which are the means of transport for masochists. We reached the town in the afternoon and visit the market and handicraft shops. We are surrounded by thousands of pousse pousse. The Baths are in absolute decline. We are at 1500 meters and at night it goes down to 1 degree in temperature, day, however, we are about 18 degrees.
July 3 Ranomafana
Pass from Ambositra to see the wood Zafimaniry and bought a chess board and some sculptures. We come, then, at Ranomafana, (a city of hot water). In the evening we do the night travel of two hours in the park to see the Mouse Lemur (a tiny lemur) and the fossa fossana (a small lynx). I went back there especially useful torches courses.
July 4 Fianarantsoa
In the morning we remain at Ranomafana where we do a round of four hours in the park with Italian speaking guide. Lemurs we see are eating bamboo and the primary rainforest has remained intact because we see the bamboo grows easily, making it impossible to use the land for cultivation or pasture. The Malagasy people have in fact burned nearly all of their forests with a rudimentary technique called Tavy. The vegetation is lush and we can see 6 different types of lemur. In the afternoon we reach Fianarantsoa where I make friends with some children in the area of the Rova (royal palace) and the end of the tour we give them twenty books purchased at a store near you.
5-6 luglio Ranohira Isalo
We start at 7:30 because the journey is long. We stop in Ambalavao to see the cattle market and we believe we are in a Western movie, with the zebu into huge fences. We also assist the processing of paper antemoro: sleep for two nights all'Isalo Ranch. The next day we go to see the canyon of lemurs and admire, at close range, four Propithecus verreauxi. We are in the territory of Bara, known cattle thieves. In the afternoon we go to see the natural pool, obligatory stop for tourists. On the way we are lucky and see the different lemur catta. The landscape is magnificent: the Colorado Recalls ol'Arizona.
July 7 Ifaty
We start at 7 after heavy breakfast. We expect to travel 280 kilometers with the last 40 on dirt road full of potholes. Pass through Ilakaka, a country already knew by reputation, having seen on French television. Ilakaka and its surroundings are a deposit of precious stones, sapphires which attracted thousands of Malagasy people in search of fortune. We stop all'arboreto of Antsokay before Tulear.Un Swiss botanist has gathered plants endemic to Madagascar. We want to see the different species of baobabs. The legend tells that the gods, grow tired of seeing so proud baobabs, tore them from the ground and then replant the contrary: the leaves reduced the upper torso and give the impression of massive roots skyward. There are many endemic plants alttre care of them annotated with the features. After lunch we reach the Hotel de la Plage, which earns its name for the proximity of the bungalow by the sea.
July 8 Tulear
In the morning we are pleased to Ifaty and go to see the mangroves that are located three kilometers from the hotel. We find stepwise village Vezo with residents living in primitive conditions and fisheries alone. Before we leave the 12 bungalows and carry the bags in the hotel, eat and pay the bill. The driver, phone calls, asking us 33 euros to take us to Tulear, but taking account of his day return fare is not that high. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Tulear, near the taxi rank is Brousse. We are shooting a little town, but at 17.30 there's the usual curfew.
9-10-11 July Tana
We learned that the plane that would travel from Tulear to 8:55 has been moved to 11:30 and there take it easy. Entering the airport waiting room a row of beggars annoying. Fortunately, we take the plane and Tana will be waiting a new driver who will accompany us in the second part of the trip. We have included two days of doing nothing. The next day we leave the hotel early and D. looking for a hairdresser that is just above the Saka, after outcool bar (where there is a well-functioning internet point). Thirty minutes of work and four euros and take off the thought. We walk the Araben ny Fahaleovantena, the lower part of the city commonly known by the name of Avenue de l'indépendance. Now before Analakely (the market, replacing the one formerly known as Zoma) climb the stairs to see feature Kianja ny Fahaleovantena (Place de l'Independence), in the upper city, par excellence, the richest area of the city shops. We return on foot and in the afternoon we rest. On the third day at 8.00 Leonard's cousin Mahery, catch me at the reception. We had a good breakfast and we're fresh and rested. We have agreed four places to see. E 'should always be the ones to decide. At 8.00 Léonard, the cousin of Mahery, catch me at the reception. We had a good breakfast and we're fresh and rested. We have agreed four places to see. E 'should always be the ones to decide. The first place is the crocodile farm. Soon after we go to market Digue, where, after haggling, manage to sell 2 of mock crocodile skin wallets to 30000 A. each. The traditional market of Digue is an opportunity for purchases and will be the last chance to find decent products at good price. Apart from that we have enough suitcases filled despite the royal robes, or allowed in hotels, and that the evening would leave the Sakamanga with two backpacks old.
We go after Tsimbaraza, the zoo and botanical (20000 A. The two tickets). It is located four kilometers south of downtown and the Croc Farm was 3 kilometers from the airport. In the afternoon we go to see the museum Andafiavaratra. Then, tired, we retreat into the hotel where Sakamanga the evening enjoy dinner.
