Mauritius is truly a paradise.
Pretty nice and not only for its fabulous beaches.
Beautiful its people, its lush vegetation, its varied landscapes and never dull, and their colors.
It's not just a holiday resort but it is much more that needs to be completely discovered.

Bienvenue a L'ile Maurice

We land at 9.30 am with the Emirates flight from Dubai. Formalities at the airport after landing the rapids, we expect the agent to hand over the car of the car rental booked for Italy. (170 Euro a week). The first stop is the town of Mahebourg to go buy the USIM EMTEL. Recommended highly, as it allows you to call in Italy number of QLS to 0.08 Euro / minute !!!!!!! Internet Package 10 Euro / month!!
We continue by car to our destination, Belle Mare. It takes a little care to get used to driving on the left and the road conditions and traffic than ideal! But then, DO NOT you understand their rules, you can move very well! We stayed at Belle Mare by ACE. A celebrity in the area. It is a Mauritian who has worked many years in Italy and now manages this facility a family with all its. It is a small and simple but it is really great and is very economical for the wonderful treatment we had. Half Board, including rich and generous appetizer! Everyone is always ready to prepare a good coffee, share a good local rum ... seems to be the farm with friends. Cute. Essential services has on the public beach of beautiful sea, sun beds, umbrellas and fridge always full! If you want you can have lunch on the beach .. pasta, pizza, salad ... what's in the kitchen ... you put agree!
GREAT ACE.
After a rest we spend the afternoon on the beach of Belle Mare, very beautiful and wild, frequented mainly by locals. One of the best views. Spend quiet evenings between one another and chat with other guests, emulating the simple things that characterize the Mauritians. In the evening playing dominoes, gossiping, sleeping. There is not much alternative ... but for a week to get used to this lifestyle really puts the world!

Exploring north

Let's start our tour to the north early in the morning with the first stop at the Sunday market in Centre de Flacq.
The fruit market is colorful and lively, but the rest can really get close and customs of the locals. There are no other tourists, and this adds even more charm to the chaos that surrounds us.
We continue to the Botanical Gardens of Pamplemousses, crossing the whole width of the island and began to admire the breathtaking views that characterize the interior, the endless expanses of sugar cane, the life of small towns along the way. Pamplemousses is a true paradise for a few euros and can be accompanied on the visit by an authorized guide. We continue to Mont Choisi, where we do a few hours at sea. We continue with the visit of Grand Baie, Perybere, Malhereux Cap. The small church on the sea is a place that conveys peace and serenity. The park around it is used by families for picnics and the beach nearby delicious. We spend a few more hours in the vicinity of Grand Gaube, where we find difficult to reach a public beach but really beautiful.
Returning to Belle Mare, we stop in Goodland to see the largest temple in Tamil and again at Poudre D'or.
The area around Grand Baie is without doubt the most civilized and prepared to tourism, the beaches are very beautiful. Do not miss Malhereux Pamplemousses and Cap.

The deer island

Today, day by boat to the island of deer.
Going down the east coast up to Trou d'Eau Douce, where we take the boat that will take us to the island.
Along the way we sail along the beautiful beach of Palmar.
The boat runs between the mangroves, in a stunning setting.
Deer Island is a must. A lagoon-colored soft white sand between languages ??with the backdrop of green mountains. To see and enjoy.
In the afternoon we take the boat and sail south to go and see the waterfalls of Grande Riviere. From the sea with direct access to the navigable river, and among cliffs and lush vegetation you get to the waterfall. And 'the whole, the silence, the only voice of nature to create an unforgettable atmosphere! Before dinner, take the opportunity to visit the Hindu temple of Poste de Flacq, built directly on the sea. Time to closure, there is none. Mystical atmosphere.

Port Louis & Mare

Today we decided to visit the capital but to return for lunch and spend the afternoon at the beach.
We cross the island again, along other roads.
The arrival at Port Louis is a shock. Farewell slow rhythms and peace ... and snarled traffic, honking, invasion of scooters and people went crazy. The central market is smaller than expected, but then the whole center is actually a big bazaar. The city is ugly, but very characteristic is to observe the multi-ethnic crowd that fills every street. A tropical sgrullone is a good reason to escape from the chaos and return the way home. Afternoon sun in the silence of Belle Mare.

Exploring south

Busy day today, but full of emotions.
First stop at the temple in Tamil Centre de Flacq.
The further south, where we cross the industrial area in which you work the sugar cane to produce sugar, rum and derivatives. We cross the center of Floreal and Curepipe Trou Aux Cerfs with destination. The great crater of the volcano is now green, but impressive. From the parking lot the view is breathtaking. We continue on towards the sacred lake of Grand Bassin with the Hindu Temple, now second in the world for the pilgrimages of the Hindus. The place is very touching. While not knowing much about the Hindu religion, just stopping to watch the pilgrims who come here to perform their rituals for a little excited. We stop for lunch in the park of the Black River Gorges, where we spied on and joined by cute monkeys go crazy for our coconut! Even in the south ... Chamarel destination. The road we travel is increasingly bumpy but with breathtaking views of the south coast and the area of Le Morne. Finally Chamarel with its waterfall and the area of land from seven colors. We return to the West Coast, with stops in seaside Flicq and Flacq. The beach is very nice, but here we see that tourism has arrived ... better than the rest mass. In return we are greeted by the surprise of ACE. Evening on the beach! Rigged a tent for eating and cooking! Spaghetti Grilled octopus and lobsters! Again BIG ACE
