We left for this cruise with a good dose of enthusiasm always mindful of the two previous cruises badged Coast. Instead, unfortunately, the expectations of the ship's services have been almost totally disregarded by scadentissima quality of services offered on board the Costa Romantica.
Starting from very low-quality food to finish the cleanup. For fortura that the beauty of the places visited have repaid the unsanitary conditions of the ship that more 'than a cruise ship could be defined ferry between the islands of the Indian Ocean.
The beauty of a trip on a cruise is that in a couple of weeks more, please visit 'places, the bad is that the stages are short and clear so you have to concentrate everything in one or two days and be lucky that the weather is clement Otherwise, you have missed an opportunity. We have lost the opportunity to Seychelles, but unfortunately the only rainy day we caught during the visit of the beautiful island of La Digue, just as we would have liked a bright sun.
Arrived in Seychelles from Mahe and ready for (the main island) to direct the boat to La Digue, the sky began to become more and more 'dark on the beach and once more' famous in the world, Anse Source d'Argent (the advertising the location of the first Bilboa or Cast Away), unfortunately the colors of the wonder that we appeared in front were bleached by the threat of rain coming from above.
However, in spite of everything, in front of us was presented a spectacle of nature as the ultimate! What beautiful these islands! What a nice walk to "La Vallee of Never" in Praslin.
This forest, which is the only place where the world comes the Coco de Mer, is said to be considered a copy of the Garden of Eden ... and I have no doubt to believe it.
In Mauritus were already back in 90 and I remembered the Deer Island and pristine desert was not pleasant! Unfortunately the wave of the last 20 years tourism has made it a 'private island overused and inevitably part of the charm of yesteryear!
Madagascar has been a pleasant surprise. We expected to Africa but, you know, not as' Africa! The misery is the constant of the three stages in Nosy Be, Diego Suarez and Tamatave.
From Nosy Be with small boats in half an hour we reached the island of Nosy Komba and walking through the streets of reddish soil that passed through the village of stilts, where people welcomes you with tribal songs and dances, we admired the 'explosion of greenery, lush with palms and grass-leaved huge with lots of lemurs, snakes, chameleons and tortoises giant .. accompanied by the children smiling and happy in their poverty, who humbly and tirelessly called for a "cadeau".
The arrival of Diego Suarez seemed the most 'suffocating from a meteorological perspective. The temperature was 30 degrees but the humidity was very high ... but we knew that in December is definitely not the best time to travel to these countries, which enjoy the best climate from April to October ... Avevemo read that the Bay of Diego Suarez was the third largest bay 'largest in the world, after Rio de Janeiro and Sydney .... .. Well it certainly speaks of greatness because when it relates to the beauty .... is a bit' a disappointment: the bay is large and sits in the middle Pan de Azucar, but for those who have seen the one in Rio that could be called "Bricciola Azucar".
Beautiful but a short distance from the bay of Diego Suarez, the Bay Dunes and the Bay of Pigeons: white sand and crystal clear sea ... almost deserted!
Stage was almost useless Tamatave (perhaps the ship has to fuel), despite being the most 'important port in the country, I do not think you deserve a break ... After visiting the national park dell'Ivoloina and made a further feast of all species of lemurs, chameleons and turtles small, medium and large, on the way back to the port we stopped at the market to buy spices (cinnamon, black pepper, white and red, nutmeg and vanilla) with the usual bargain price (clearly prefer the euro to the dollar), but unlike many countries where shares at a price less than half to get here more than 'now and are not willing to go down. To give an idea: ask for a bag of pepper 5 euros and you can barely get off at 3 and is so when you consider that their average salary is about 40 euros per month.
We pay their hypothetical we have distributed in minutes to a couple of stalls.
Destroyed by the heat, we went on the ship that we have renamed the Costa Romantica from coast poor and dirty, we are the fruit and also the last stage: Reunion (French island).
Upon our arrival a staff of taxi drivers waiting for us and begins the usual bargaining to take you around ... (we tried to rent a car but to no avail as it is Christmas and everything is closed)
There was no way to get down under 400 euros per minibus, so 'we made a group with other vacationers, and we split the cost!
For the mum who got to see the Island is really bad and if Tamatave was not worthy of pause, the Reunion was even less!
Bad beaches (some black, some grigastre) also that we had read that the most '"in" St. Gilles Le Bains has been a real disappointment!
In the capital, St Denis reigned total desolation (perhaps because, as Christmas was not anything open)
Probably the only thing worthy of note could be a visit to the volcano that we could not do for lack of time ... ..
So to conclude: the journey worth traveling to the Seychelles (paradise) and Nosy Be ..... and still better in the cold in Italy cruise!
