If, in addition to Central Asia want to know more about other countries that we visited at:

as well as valuable tips, beautiful pictures will take you through new cultures ...

Before proceeding to the description of the itinerary of the trip, we anticipate to reach some of the destinations described is essential to have a good 4x4 with camping gear on. In the tips section you will find more details about it.

Windhoek (Khameleon Guest House): the capital of Namibia, is a quiet town that does not offer much, if not the possibility to rent a car with which to explore the country. We recommend purchasing a good map, which will replace the use of the navigator.

Kaokoveld (Opuwo / Orupembe / Purros / Sesfontein): Despite the various travel stories, see the guides advise against visiting this area independently of the difficulty of the course, today we are happy to not having listened to no one except to our instincts.
The Kaokoveld is a beautiful area located north west of Namibia. Describing the extraordinary landscapes to be enjoyed, it would be very simplistic. Do not expect nothing but wide open spaces and nature, as far as the eye can see. Just you and nature and the locals. For this is the land of the Himba, or Ovahimba: an ethnic group of about 12,000 people living in Kaokoland (Kunene Region), in northern Namibia. They are a people of nomadic pastoralists, are closely related to the Herero people, Herero and speak the language. Farmers as cows and goats. They wear little clothing, and women cover their body with a mixture of butter-based red, ocher and herbs, as is commonly thought, to protect from the sun. In fact they are purely aesthetic reasons.

Very few tourists travel these roads because of their ruggedness. You only need common sense and keep a speed appropriate to road conditions. A point in favor of the atmosphere to be enjoyed in complete solitude, and a point disadvantage because in the event of machine trouble, it is possible to get stuck for a week, that's why you need before starting to fill up with petrol and have a range of 1000 km and food (food and water) enough.

Damaraland (Palmwag / Outjo): along the road from the gateway to the Kaokoveld Etosha park, cross the area of Damaraland. The region boasts many natural attractions including the Brandberg massif culminating in the highest mountain in Namibia and Twyfelfontein where some of the finest rock paintings in Africa. Nice (if you drive) is also an excursion to the Petrified Forest where you can view logs of trees 260 million years old. The guides must be hired, the price is really negligible, about $ 4. Have fun listening to them speak in their own language full of special sounds of the Damara language.
