Here I am return from Seychelles. A wonderful trip to a country that seems to live outside the world.
Organized everything from the valuable information obtained by the thousand in travel beds.
I started by chance, searching the internet for a flight Mahè and there are no longer able to stop.
Airline: Qatar Airways, especially for the benefit of not having to leave from Rome but from Malpensa.
Excellent flight with a stopover in Doha is that way in return. Rate locked in a few months to advance to Euro 717.00.
The next step was to ask for documentation all'Ente Seychelles Tourism in Rome. Efficient and fast in a couple of days I have sent home a package with lots of interesting brochures, maps and information necessary for the organization of the holiday.
I decided to split the days available on the three main islands: Mahe, Praslin and La DIgue.
Without wasting time, I immediately sent some e-mails to the hotels and guest house that from the experiences of those who preceded me and the description seemed to my liking and I was waiting for the answers that have not been slow in coming. Availability and rates in men who do not tell.
The choice was really difficult. The possibilities of accommodation are the most disparate, from luxurious hotel accommodation in villas.
On Mahè preference fell to the Plantation Club Resort & Casino. The original idea was to choose the guest-house, this solution seemed a good compromise for living in close contact with the locals and avoid elegant resort, which tend to distort the reality around you. But this town, I proposed a tariff advantage which I have not been able to give up. Euro 114.00 B & B for a double room per night. The structure is very beautiful, with every comfort. The rooms are mini-apartments and in the evening with 450 Rupees (€. 41.00) dinner quietly in two with a rich international buffet.
Upon arrival at the airport we immediately rented a car.
Agreed fee 50 Euro per day with the nice Bernard of car that, in addition to your car, we also proposed the conversion of the Euro in black (1 Euro = 11 Rupees), definitely more advantageous than in the bank (1 Euro = 6, 3 Rupees).
The left-hand-drive was the first (and I believe only) obstacle to overcome. But nothing dramatic. After the first km I had already metabolized everything. The main roads are paved but not XXL-wide. However, when you meet the local bus speed sfrecciano crowds is a lot inside to avoid the collision. In addition, the side of the road is bordered by a canal to drain half a meter deep, which puts a little 'tension especially during the first few minutes of driving. Anyway the car is really essential Mahè. As it is practically possible to reach the beaches which often are quite distant from the bus stop.
The island is long about thirty km. In four days you can turn into long and wide. There are very wild beaches with waves for surfers to test especially in the south-west of the island, while to the north, there are definitely more quiet bays and whales. However every corner has its charm.
We have half day excursion to the capital Victoria. Very small and quiet. It 's a swarming of people. Unfortunately we were forced to turn in an unceasing shower, but the rest of that day at the beach you could not just stare.
For the step-Praslin Mahè alternatives were different. We opted for the flight with Air Seychelles booked directly upon Mahè. Ne one every hour but it is best to reserve it with a little 'in advance especially if you decide to change the island in the days when they arrive intercontinental flights and reservations are many. The cost is Euro 59,00 per way. The experience is fun though short. The flight lasts about twenty minutes and the chance to see the islands from above. A real spectacle.
On Praslin, the original idea was to turn the island with the local bus, but then we opted for the car hire to avoid excessive delays.
The hotel chosen to Praslin was the Palm Beach. Nice and clean. Decidedly more modest than its predecessor but still recommended. Here the cost of double room per night on half board is Euro 140.00 down to 126.00 euros if you opt for payment in cash. The beach is not large but that the idea was to turn every inch of the island.
Recommend a visit to the Valle de Mai (entrance Euro 15.00 or $ 19.00). There are several possible paths, always well marked. It 'a very good experience for themselves but if done with the guide you can discover unexpected details that are hardly able to see.
A Praslin beaches worthy of note are certainly Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette.
The first to reach by car along a steep road. But there is no need to let themselves be intimidated. Sea and Saxon granite really pay the scenic route rather easy. For lunch, the choice fell twice in Le Chevalier. Adjacent to the beach. Good food and affordable price.
Anse Georgette is the legendary beach in luxury Lemuria Resort. To be able to visit it is necessary to get from your hotel to announce the previous day.
E 'can enter the resort by car, parked where indicated by the attendant and walk into the path through the well-kept golf course. After about twenty minutes there is Anse Georgette. Really worth being a nice leap to enjoy this memorable beach.
Four days have really flown Praslin and reluctantly close the bag to move on the island, but without fail me in a fantastic gelato ice cream run by an Italian that serve more than a memorable ice cream, offers pizza and sandwiches not bad. Popular by the Italians in need of national tastes. His name is Luke and is at Anse Volbert, long beach of unbelievably fine sand and white.
A big ferry ahead for passage in La DIgue (euro 10 one way). Just over half an hour to cross the sea with a little 'and we moved into another world ...
Upon arrival, a taxi driver offers to transfer the guest-house. Loaded our luggage on a cart and bull attacked an unexpected turn, has brought us from Kot Babi guest-house at 150 mt. from port (sigh!)
At the heart of La DIgue revolves around the harbor so it's often unnecessary to take a taxi.
This guest-house was definitely the best accommodation for the entire trip. Babi Cortesissimo the owner and spacious rooms. Our room, in attic with as many as four beds!
Dinner point to 19.30. We eat all together in a long and convivial table. E 'was great fun. Babi divinely kitchen.
A La DIgue there are very few means at the engine. The bicycle is the means used by tourists and locals. Little noise and no smog.
On the island you can buy all sorts of food at the supermarket rifornitissimo Gregorie's. It is located near the port.
The beaches are the best Grand Anse, with the sea a little 'shaken, Petite Anse and Anse quietest Coco. Postcard is built Anse D'Argent.
Seychelles good at all!
