A week in Zanzibar

Let the university exams, I come home to mom, Zanzibar awaits us!
The January 11 start from Pesaro with the regional leads me to Ancona, then take the Eurostar to Rome and then the shuttle train to Fiumicino.
On January 12 at 2:00 prendiam the plane from Rome Fiumicino (Neos flights, very good staff excellent flight) for the island that I dreamed for years now ...

What good is my dream to come true .....
And here again the desert of Sarah (last year I was gone the kenya) ... dall'aereo stupendo ....
Around 11 local 30 hours (two hours in most places of Italy), after 7 h 30 flight arrival .....
The Zanzibar airport is tiny!
Sin but to take the suitcase, you must give a tip to those who download the bag, otherwise you open it! It 'just a bad system, but, after the fatigue of travel, you do not want the hassle ..

Ok leave the airport, it's hot, and the only is high, let the van ... but, it's already started ... then the assistant to the tour operator Alì entrusts us with which the van waiting for about half an hour ....
We take the van, after about 50 minutes to arrive.
Unfortunate that the last piece of road is full of holes ....

Coral Reef resort a Pwani Mchangani:
we do not have air conditioning (my mother can not heat more), there are rooms located near the temporary storage of 'dirt and stink! rooms have no telephone network, the bathroom has no windows, only 8 small hole in the wall, the cups are Sticchi the karambola categorizes him as a three star superior but as regards the rooms leave much to be desired ..... but as excellent cuisine, the staff is friendly ....
My mother has called sweet prison as if you exit the village there is nothing, one can not walk to the village of Pwani Mchangani, was forced to quit in bus and there is no contact with the local population, a Unlike Nungwi.
vabbè, complaints aside .....
show that the sea can be seen from the lobby!
I race to get the costume .... I race on the beach .... I burn your back ... (although I am a Mediterranean type 12 is the protection isufficente)

The second day
I have done all the sea, through the low water I went to walk on Coralina barrier, but it is impossible to go alone, because the beach boys, who earn a few dollars you are insistently and you can not leave ...

Strolling on the beach, away from our resort we see a whale: ran aground!
What stinks is that! The population of the place took some 3 days to take it piece by piece as they use it to get oil ...

In the following days I went to swim beyond the reef, located about one and a half km from the coast, but can be reached on foot at low tide there .... the water is fresh and of a deep blue , colorful fish, starfish and a beautiful red.

Here are the trips that I made, of course with the beach boys (taratruga sullemani Alì and father):

Spice-town tour & Stone:
In the middle of the forest Zanzibari led us to explore all the plants of spices: cardamom, cinnamon (it's amazing how many flavors has, in fact the root is similar to vicks) zanzero, pepper, turmeric ..... and we drank a drink ginger.
From the turn of the spices we are left for Stone Town, the town of Zanzibar, with the palace of the Sultan, the market for slaves, the fish market, meat (very poor hygienic conditions) and the fruit market and then make an appetizer for the African house, from which you can see a beautiful sunset over the sea

-Kizimkazi (the bay of a thousand dolphins), józan forest, mangroves, Prison Island
We leave for the south end of 'island, where there are dolphins.
Despite the bad weather (in Zanzibar disappear after thirty minutes, is always the sun) will embark on a boat for 15 people ....
After about 20 minutes the first dolphins ... show that jump, swim in front of us .... I seem to be right in the cartoon of the little mermaid ....
We spent the morning in a boat, return to Kizimkazi for lunch and then back on the bus to go to the forest józan where there are red columbus, a kind of red monkeys from the back .... show that I am, too nice, then see them move between the branches, with their flights, without ever falling ....
Back on the bus, towards mangroves .....
Wonderful walk on a walkway through the mangroves (for the presence of low tide), these particular trees grow in salt water is that sweet .... too beautiful to be surrounded by so much nature ....
Yes again, to Stone Town from where we take the boat to go to Prison island (where there were prisons), the island where there are the giant tortoises, imported from Sheyshell the sultan ...
The island is private, of an Indian, but you can visit the park that contains these funny turtles,,, take that, if you drop and withdraw into their shell makes a strange noise ....
It is the sunset .... it takes the bus to go to hotel, dinner and supper with typical Swahili ...
Very good food, good juice of sugar cane!

Nungwi, Zanzibar of the Ibiza

This village is located in 'northern end of' island, is famous for its beach clubs (including one run by the Rasta community) and that is not subject to the phenomenon of the tides ...
But first, we visit the water park with water turtles ....
This is an ideal place for those seeking fun and clear blue sea, fresh, which goes immediately into the depths ...

Stone town in 4
Me, my mom, and Gianluca and his mother, we decide to go to Stone town alone, without anyone else to see the new and to enter the palace of the sultan ... andre fact the few in this town, intriguing, with its fantastic Arabic and Indian doors ....

Dinner Lobster base (home of Turtle?)
Last night .... in 12 depart from the hotel by bus to Sullemani to go to eat lobster and fish ... the road is complete the hole, we are in the palm trees and we eat crayfish, grasshoppers, shrimp and octopus with potatoes and rice coconut.
If I may advise you do not do 20 wasted, he said to us that led us to the fishing village, but we were in a Villotta and not to contact with local people ....

IMPRESSIONS:
This island is a melting pot of everything:
Africa is also Arabia but is beyond the houses on earth and straw you can find beautiful Arabian architecture, but also India, as witnessed by the great doors of Stone town.
It 'a very intriguing ....

As for the beaches .... well, at Pwani Mchangani is wonderful: it is very large, white, full of coconut palms where you can repair sun. The only flaw is that there is no hot water, but BOLLENTEEEE! (If not exceeds the barrier) So if you want to take a bath without fresh palms, the council animated Nungwi. But if you want to relax without too many people around, well, Pwani Mchangani is ideal, remember to always walk along the beach ...

In conclusion:
if you want to view and relax in Zanzibar takes two weeks .......
is a beautiful island, people are always smiling and always greets:
Jamboo mambo! And you reply: Boa!
Karibuni Zanzibar (Goodbye !!!!!!)
Thanks Mom for giving this holiday gift
