A week of relaxing holidays in Tanzania at Kendwa beach
We started with a flight from Rome Fiumicino and Meridiana Fly Kendwa we stayed at Eden Beach Resort. We spent a wonderful week, thanks to the warmth and friendliness of the beach boys and all of the Africans. The village is very nice and clean, eat well and stay is pleasant. The white sandy beach, offering marvelous landscapes and sunsets. We visited, along with the beach boys, the city of Stone Town where we visited the market, the birthplace of Freddy Mercury, the square where he was the slave market, the sultan's palace, the Moorish fortress and the port. We went to Prison Island to see what was born as a slave prison and fortunately never used for this purpose, where it has a herd of turtles. We spent half a day to Nakupenda, a strip of sand in the ocean, which appears and disappears with the tides. Here we have an excellent snorkeling and then ate grilled lobster and cicadas. On another trip we visited the plantations of spices and found that all the spices we use in the kitchen, do not come in jars at the supermarket, but are produced on this wonderful island. Another excursion we made to the Forest Jozani to see the monkeys and then we spent half a day with dolphins. All of these trips we made with the Beach Boys and we spent a few dollars. From Italy we had brought pens, notebooks, shirts, underwear, cuddly toys and even candy that we distributed to all the children we met in the various countries we've been through. During one of our excursions, I asked the driver to stop in front of a school and not tell you all the happiness of those children who received small gifts from us, they did not expect gifts at all. I would say two words on the beach boys, are lovely people, who live to sell items and services on beaches. At the beginning may seem annoying, but the second day you get to know them better and learn to appreciate and to respect for their way of life that is very hard, but that they face with great desire to live and learn. All of them are fluent in Italian and in many cases speak it better than us. Talk to them, let them tell their experiences, their ups and downs and you will realize that they have little, indeed nothing at times, but they are happy. We have much, but we are not serene.
