Nairobi - Arusha - Tarangire

Another journey along the roads of Kenya. Still hours of tossed between holes and dust. Further to this, the shuttle Nairobi-Arusha us was there and a group of Poles on vacation one of the most significant two .... Drink water instead of one, given that it was very hot, sometimes opened the backpack to do with guarding and took a sip of vodka and another already elderly, who did not take pictures from the bus window that blows at each hole. Where will probably develop a sequence of strips and pieces of window! At noon we arrive at the Namanga border, half an hour to the bureaucracy and the various stamps at 13.30 and arrive in Arusha. A quick lunch and load everything on the Kudu Safaris 4x4 that will take us to stroll for Tanzania.
Destination Tarangire National Park. The park is beautiful, a lot of arid land baobabs and animals with which we suffered the first meeting to our entry into the reserve. It 'amazing how tiredness disappear in a few seconds ... Once we are immersed in nature. The only sore point is the continuous grumble 2 of our traveling companions that after a few hours already beginning to manifest signs of impatience towards Hafman, our driver, just because after thousands of views per zebras Mara, did not stop the time had to see yet another zebra! But thank goodness, we say! So it's nice to see when the first time but after hundreds of animals at the end .... are striped mules!
The scene is more fun anyway capitata view during the game today here in Tarangire there are many snakes, that in this period but they are hibernating. The only people visible are the pythons, which raggomitolano on the highest branches of trees to take all the heat of the sun.
Today we have seen two, one of them of impressive size, but all wrapped up in himself. Was on top of a plant with few leaves, impossible not to see this pile of tangled muscles .. but what do you think we have made our traveling companions to see him? On board our jeep was all a "here's shares from that branch, salt right now still a little 'higher, now you follow the other branch, is there." "Where? I can not see anything." And we laughed .... especially when 10 minutes later the same scene was repeated but the animal in question was a giraffe, a short Cosetta piccolina high and 3 meters wide and 2 ½ ...
Our lodge, Tarangire Sopa Lodge, is very nice and our room, the great and spacious n.27. At dinner we are all together in one table, 2 of us, our 2 travel companions and a family of Venice, which is on the jeep to do our own tour. The thing that seemed at least to note is that after 10 minutes at dinner we had linked with the newcomers more than the other two after a week of travel ... then ... not us!

Tarangire - Serengeti

Even today, long stage of transfer, from Tarangire to the Serengeti along the Ngorongoro Crater, where we will stay at the back. We do a little 'to view a game Tarangire immediately after breakfast. The climb to the crater is a Way of the Cross for the low recovery of jeeps and the fact that our driver did not at all clear that we must climb uphill ride: almost keeps the same high gear until the engine died and only at that time scale, losing all the speed gained! Result: rise time 3 hours with average speed 15 kmh ... a nice change from the insane speeds on the slopes of the Kenyan drivers! The route of ascent to the crater is completely immersed in the fog that envelops the entire perimeter of the caldera. The effect of different atmospheric pressure between outside and inside the caldera, the contour of the crater is always shrouded by clouds, while at the center of the crater is always good weather. Once you reach the crest there is a panorama opens up incredible crater is huge (18 km in diameter) and in the middle of it there is a salt lake. We stop for lunch at the Serena Lodge before going on to Serengeti. The next part of the trail is fortunately better and the park is nothing but a huge flat and barren immensity. Every so often a small rocky hill stands and watching them one can not help but expect any day that a lion appears. At our arrival at the reception of the Serengeti Sopa Lodge confusion reigns supreme, there are a lot of groups came together and the 2 receptionist are haywire. I do not know if this or if it continues to rage, the false claim that we are in honeymoon, but instead of a normal room assigned us a suite! To our entry into the suite 4, we realize that is not beautiful, it's space! On two levels, in the living room and above, has an incredible view of the park! At the edge of the bedroom is a beautiful bath in which we think immediately of paddle off to remove the dust and fatigue of the journey but when I change the tap immediately idea: water has a green - Brown makes me a little 'sense and in the end for an opto shower. In the evening we go to dinner, there is no buffet here as in Kenya, but have a menu card which usually offers little goodies and eatable.

Serengeti

Today spend the whole day in game view in the park. That is, after breakfast, the reception we gave our lunch box containing the meal. We are happy, because this vast barren plain and beaten by the wind and sometimes rain, burst from the sun during the central hours of the day, we won our hearts.
I write now to return from an exciting day out and is causing a storm. From the window of our room now see a huge rainbow. The dark brown clouds and full of rain on one side and the sun makes the other colors more vivid and bright, the grass yellow highlight on the black clouds and green trees.
The yellow fever acacia trees, so called because of the color of their bark, giving yet another touch of color. This morning started everything seemed wrong, after 2 hours to stroll to this huge park we had not seen anything interesting, then the usual zebra, gnu, giraffe, impala and buffalo grazed. But we were thrilled when, outside the room to go for breakfast we had come across a group of iene return from bagordi night. Fortunately, towards the end of the morning we began to spot some 'of cats, lions and lionesses, but when most fun was when we arrived at the "Hyppo Pool, the pool of hippos. It 'a very small pond because of the drought, full of hippos all pressed against each other to grab the most comfortable and deep. Often squabble among themselves, push, grunt, mutters. The best thing was to get off the jeep and closer to the edge of the pool, to watch closely. We were almost an hour and was really fun!
In the afternoon, returning to the lodge, we saw a large group of lionesses and a huge herd of elephants, majestic and beautiful, with lots of puppies!
Un po 'di relax and then dinner. Who knows what animals run out of our room last night? Since last night was full of hyenas and jackals, we ensure that the door is securely closed! I start to worry a little 'because the game view tomorrow morning is expected to start before dawn ... leave the room with the dark is not the maximum of life with these animals around!

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

5 hours of the morning: wake up! A coffee and our way of safari at dawn. It 'still plunged in darkness when we leave here but the light comes almost suddenly, as if a light bulb. Then increases gradually. Just a beautiful spotted leopard, which is rising on a hill, probably where the burrow, returning from a night of hunting. Nearby, beneath the fronds un'acacia of yellow fever, a cheetah peaceful nap. Let us return to the lodge for breakfast at around 8.30, and say goodbye to our fabulous suite but especially the Serengeti, this magnificent park that has won with its vast grasslands. On the way to the Ngorongoro Crater stop at the Olduvai Gorge of the canyon to see and visit the small museum which describes the path of discovery of the remains dell'homo abilis. Interesting to see how they were reconstructed skeletons in a pit wedge of bone, human and animals.
After 3 hours of road and torment for my back, which now begins to implore mercy, we arrive at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, at the western boundary of the crater and near the trail access. In fact, the crater is a park within which there are rigid rules of travel is only permitted to travel on a track and it is absolutely possible to get off the jeep, if not in the parking areas provided, salatissime penalty fines. The view of the crater is truly breathtaking, and fortunately our arrival the sky is so clear that we can all godercela. To get to our room is a beautiful walk, since we are in the room furthest from the reception! In return we have also a view here. We enjoy an afternoon relaxing on the terrace of the lodge, we read a little 'and chat. At the fall of the sun also set a good cold and after a few minutes the clouds came and within minutes begins to rain. We collect in the room for nap and write. On our roof monkeys playing beautiful black hair with a large and bulky, since it is very cold here. At dinner we in fact "armed" batteries and a wind jacket!

Ngorongoro Crater

Today we descend into the crater where we will spend the whole day. At our arrival herds of zebra and gnu welcome us and immediately attract our attention because of their quantity. Not far away a flock of iene are taking the sun: there are lots of puppies that the noise of the engine of the jeep escaped frightened in the pit for that hole! These animals bruttissimi particularly dangerous and can be funny when they are puppies!
We stop after a few kilometers on the edge of a huge open space where many are browsing impala. Not far from them we notice the presence of a cheetah, a short distance followed by two jackals. The walk of the cheetah, however, we quite curious and after a few seconds we see that it is not just walking, is seeking the impala! Just time to realize and cheetah snaps and impressive progression reaches an incredible rate, find the prey, strikes with a foot, the land and grab the neck with its powerful jaws. We are excited by the scene which we have just witnessed, and decide to stay there to see what happens: the two jackals soon become three, and the attempt of impala mordicchiare died while still shaking the cheetah between the jaws. The reaction of the cheetah is sudden, with a spring snap the prey, makes a leap by which you turn 180 degrees and launches a foot on the run that puts the pretenders to the 3 meals of the day! The three jackals fighting in retreat, and quickly bring you to wait a short distance that the cheetah is satisfied and leave their leftovers.
At this point I turn to Cristiano to compare our impressions and he met with air and pleased me that, from cameramen model which has become, has managed to film it! In the afternoon we review the scene and I must say that it is not even coming evil given the speed at which you moved the cheetah! We too have a small memory worthy of National Geographic. The lunch is held on the banks of a pond filled with hippos and on which fly famelici hawks ready to grab everything you're eating. Indeed we must bite the sandwich do with guarding, because the nails and the beak of these hawks are particularly sharp. We are able to enjoy lunch and a little 'sunshine when, little more than an inexperienced Japanese tourists is attacked by the hawks and sees literally fly off the chicken thighs!
In the afternoon many sighted cats, lions, cheetahs, a wild cat. Let us return to the lodge tired (and dusty and dirty of course) but soddisfattissimo. Nevertheless our BRONTOLON traveling companions were able to complain about the same! They are incredible!

Lake Manyara

Tonight, perhaps satisfied with the day, we slept well, and we have not even noticed that the casino combined monkeys on our roof. We wake up in the midst of clouds, which cover everything and not allow us to greet the crater. It rains and is very cold, so after breakfast we put ourselves in jeep destination Lake Manyara. Our last night in Tanzania to move in a field tend situated on the hills around the lake.
Around 11 we arrived at Camp Kirumuru tended and given that the lunch is still missing a lot, with a guide of the field we are going to do a walking safari in the surrounding area, during which we receive an explanation of the plants that are there and the animals that live nearby. The descent into the gorge is fairly quick, a little 'less that the rise is a bit' more difficult since the heat and hunger that is beginning to be felt! After a lavish dinner depart for Lake Manyara Park, rich in luxuriant vegetation and very particularly the scene of the salt lake, to the dazzling white of the remains of sodium around him during the dry season.
Spotted a curious and friendly group of baboons that are beginning to catch up around the jeep. There are many puppies who are clinging to or on the back or under the belly of their mothers. I am impressed when a female baboon past us holding something that looks like a puppet: hand, we see that continuing to keep its small probably dead long before now completely dry and ... a sentence.
Finished our tour we return to camp tent for dinner. At night a ventaccio us step into the tent by closing all dark ... then no possible observation of animals that are approaching ..

Arusha - Nairobi

Today the day of return. From Manyara to Arusha arrive and leave our 4x4 back on the shuttle bus to Nairobi.
The return trip is the coup de grace for my back and at the disaster I have the strength to just get in the room and faint on the bed! I just revived because the hungry are felt ... This is our last night in Africa. The journey was long and tiring but full of interesting experiences and unforgettable places to see what it was worth even the back! From tomorrow, however we are in for a whole week of relaxing in the sunshine of the Seychelles! After 15 days of dust and earth ... I can not wait to take the first dip in the sea!

Nairobi - Mahè - Praslin

The flight from Nairobi to Mahe, about 3 hours flies quickly thanks to the vision of a fun-filled films like The Hitch. At our arrival at Mahè we have to be landed in a small corner of paradise. It is hot, hot, and is a beautiful day. Fortunately, we anticipate an hour and a half flight to Praslin, where we come to the 15th In ten minutes we arrive at our hotel located on a promontory north of the island.
Even after half an hour from our arrival we leave the luggage in the room and run on the beach! We just pleased that the water of the sea is hot!
Here everything is pervaded by the scent of flowers.
