Our holiday had been planned for the Maldives ... but as you all know, because the tsunami, it was impossible at that time to go from those parts and be completely relaxed ... so we opted for a change of destination: Zanzibar.
And to think that we had visited many sites that talk but we were not convinced enough to go ... I think that teens most beautiful place there is!
We have to adapt to the departure from Milan, was the only option to change the package instead of from Rome ... after 2 hours of delay due to a problem with the catering company, our journey begins. The airline Eurofly is, but the airbus and Star Airlines ... some air 'strettino and uncomfortable to spend 8 hours of travel ... but in the end the important thing is to arrive at their destination.
Just arrived, after the usual rigmarole of baggage ... of tips (which you'll read in other stories) we can find our ALI, which together with 2 other boys, Stephen and Veronica, accompany us all 'Ocean Paradise located in the north-east of a little over Kiwenga. The facility is beautiful, newly built, officially inaugurated on 8 December 2004. The food delicious and very clean everywhere.
The beach is magnificent! Basically you find yourself walking on talcum powder and watch a sea of color that changes every 5 minutes. Tides characterize this part of the island, and you find yourself in a unique spectacle, when the sea is reduced to a few centimeters mostare for the cultivation of algae that are a major source of income for the inhabitants of the small village (Pwani Mchangani) shortly far away.
It 'very curious to see all the individual characters who populate the beach!
-I raccimolarsi fishermen for some more money in accompanying you to walk to the reef showing every shell, every animal that hides in the sand ...
-The beach boys who are really smart and that there organizzerenno unforgettable trips at prices very competitive compared to those of tour operators ... if you try to "Doctor" and "Whale Shark "....
- Children, we have brought some 'of notebooks, pencils, pen and T-shirts ... it's nice to see them smile by giving them simple objects, which are now in our society have no value ...
Masai-I, these people so special and very different from the people of Zanzibar, the women dressed in brightly coloti ... and with their high jumps!
We would remember every single person on this feature known beach.
As for excursions, we recommend strongly that call "BLUE DAY" which includes transportation by boat on a tongue of sand, where you can go snorkling on the reef and eat fresh fruit (pineapple and coconut), 2 hour break on an island close for lunch, where to eat lobsters, octopus, squid and shrimp really squisisti, visit the baobab and centenary tour of the lagoon. All this at only 30 euros, against 80 tour operators.
More beautiful excursions are visits to the monkeys, red forest, the spice tour, visit to Stone Town (the province) and a Nunguwi sunset, the beach further north of the island.
During the period of January, the rains are very sporadic, at most 30 minutes may rain. As for the mosquitoes ... we do not view either one even if we take precautions to antirepellenti, avoiding to make the anti.
What else to say? It 'was a journey that will always remain in our hearts ... especially things that are difficult to pass ... the colors, smells, the smiles of the people!
