05.10.2010 South Luangwa National Park (Zambia)

Our tired truck trudged along the dusty dirt roads of Zambia, sometimes sobbing until the engine decides to quit.
We were in the middle of nowhere, in a place not far out of Zambia, along a deserted road and sandy ...

The red dust rose into the sky and filled the air ...
Color our T-shirts and khaki shirts and permeated our nostrils ...

Suddenly out of nowhere dozens of curious children and the clothes torn ...
Mica happen every day that ten whites to stop with a large and strange truck in front of their huts!

Fannie blasphemy while extricating a piece between the motor and the other ...
Stephanie and I will take advantage, after a bit tight 'friendship with the children to visit their huts ...
Mutes before that wretched show ...
A mud and straw hut in which there is a blanket lying on the bare earth, two pairs of flip flops, some pot and some clothes hanging on the wall ... a boy sleeps ... the hostess asks us a photo with his four children ...
He smiles showing upper teeth that does not ... 25 years old, he looks 40 ... do not tell our age. Stephanie is 26 years old but it seems his daughter, and I say this with sadness.

There are some wonderful children from physical features. I watch them, observe them and to myself saddens me to think hard on their future ...

A 16-17 years will already have a couple of other poor children with a Christ of their village, they will build a miserable hut of straw and mud and will begin to survive on their own ...

Fannie is dirty with grease and oil.
The thermometer on my clock reads 42.2 ° ...

I see visions of coca cola cans frozen everywhere ...

Our truck does not want to leave.
He stops a truck carrying maize, there trolling for $ 50 ... in Africa are the white bucks on two legs!

40 km in the trailer of a truck sitting on sacks of grain ... we were the attraction of the road as we crossed the various small villages ...

I still had the eyes, the heart and mind the time spent with those people in their little world.
I thought of the woman to whom I gave a soap and whose first action was to bite into believing that you eat or the joy of the child to discover that I had given him the toy car was actually a pencil sharpener!

The South Luangwa National Park is very picturesque!
High giraffe walks beside us ... just five minutes to assemble the tents that we are already in the jeep safari and night with Wilson Said!

We are exhausted from the long day is not much enthusiastic about this latest safari but once the sun goes down we plunge to 100% of savannah in the life ...

How exciting!
Wilson points to the spot light on a vast plain ... slowly appear as a show in various antelope and impala ... who eats, who rests, who is watching us curiously cautious ... suddenly emerges a spotted hyena ... head down, looks a bit 'round and heads for the impala ... the herd thins out in a few seconds ...

We turn to our jeep for hours, we encounter crocodiles, elephants, hippos, monkeys along a long road, hidden between two bushes I see a spot unlike any other previous ...
Said Wilson and continuing indifferent ... I follow my instincts and do stop the jeep ...
Let's go back a little 'back and a wonderful example of leopard para before our astonished eyes!
The cameras go crazy as we admire this animal met so elegant!

A few hours later for dinner we only tell our feelings!

"Watch out tonight!" - Intimate us the sweet olandesina Eef "hippos and elephants are accustomed to walk near our tents, do not get out!"

Instead I decide to sleep in the open!
There are good prospects for an unforgettable evening.
The sky is super star, there's a tune that caresses fresh face, the OST is edited by the hippos that swim a few meters away from us ...

The night everything changed! It is as if the animal kingdom have again resumption of his kingdom. A few impala boldest ventures too close to the river to drink, hoping not to finish in the mouth of the crocodile round ...

I stay to chat up at 2.30 when the noise does not feel distant from my shoulders ... Click and point the torch. Known only four eyes watching me ... I can not understand that animal is ... Moments of thrill that comes up to the ranger and discover that there were two frightened impala service that have occurred refuge there to escape from a leopard spotted not far ...
However, we recommend that you change jobs because of a cobra that occasionally came out just over there ...

Everyone in the pool! Fighting mosquitoes fall down for an hour, just long enough to admire a beautiful sunrise!
