Trip to Zimbabwe by Daniele Somenzi.. From Pandamatenga to Victoria Falls
Zimbabwe
I am accompanying a group of Italians, and while driving the Defender, launched the idea of making a loop inside Zimbabwe, as we in Botswana, telling them the pros and cons of this change of route.
Esssendo I was already several times in Zimbabwe, trust and accept what I tell them to enter.
At that pass by the customs, very nice and isolated, among other things, until Pandamatenga, where they tell us that the visa with one entry have done, but one with two entries that obviously costs twice as much, and we do! obviously succumb and pay.
This, in hindsight, was the only drawback, if I may call it. Just past there, the vegetation surrounds us, in every sense, the asfato disappears and the road to Robins camp in the Hwange National Park, is 4x4. But everything is magic and everyone likes a lot, the guard told us that the first two days beyond the network was a lion. Well, just like we like it.
Hwange Park is everything to us, no tourist ventures Mugabe era around here, thinking that it is dangerous, but is not so, Zimbabweans are friendly and always so kind as before.
Sleep after the safari all day and have seen many animals, including wild dogs, to Sinamatella, beautiful camp facilities on a hill with binoculars from where you can see the game down in the valley.
The next day we drive up to Victoria Falls and here we take a canoe ride with guides on the Zambezi River. is April 2009.
Final Report, Zimbabwe is very much like all of us.
