Sihanouk Ville

On the advice of our scottish friends in Scotland (Brian and Laura) we decided that the first step in Cambodia was dedicated to the desired beach, and what better solution if not Sihanoukville. The journey that led us by the Vietnamese border to the sea (about four hours by bus for just three euros) is characterized by a vast campaign that offers an enchanting scenery but at the same time indicative of the situation in which the Cambodians live. Our attention was caught by a succession of predominantly agricultural landscape interrupted from time to time, from pineapple plantations. Another particular that hit us are the very widespread white horses, used by Cambodians for each type of work or not.

Brian and Laura have become part of the team return to parallel zero since our coexistence has extended beyond the three-day devoted to Mekong. These are two peers who like us have decided to take a trip around the world long three years.

Once we finally reach Sihanoukville we temporarily used five motorcyclists who have conducted us to the search for accommodation. Luck has witnessed since we found a room at a guest house run by young apprentices of English, all about fifty metres from the sea: what a luck!

The beach by desired and floury white sand, but certainly not overcrowded if not by the many children intent to sell fresh fruit to tourists. What was presented to us is what we were in a desperate search. Our days took place in the most classic ways if you are a tourist who seeks refreshment after several days of travel. Alarm clock to a time more than reasonable, breakfast and then the sea the sun and the soft sand did the rest. A certain presence are children who sell tourists fresh fruit.

The only negative note, if I can say this, is that the sun goes down soon and already five to the sky begins to darken so it's time to return to room to prepare dinner. The problem with every night was to choose which restaurant to go to eat, the choices were many as all along the beach there was a whole succession of locals lit only by candles: eating with feet immersed in the sand offers an indescribable feeling.

Our stay was prolonged for about four days after that, accompanied by our inseparable friends, we have put in motion to Phnom Pehn.
