Here's more Chinese cities Chinese ... Hong kong ... seems a paradox, with its skyscrapers, its imposing roads, bright lights, trendy shops ... yet it is. Hong kong is perhaps the only city that was not substantially affected by the Red Guards of Mao Tzedong during the years of the Chinese Cultural Revolution.

From the airport take the subway (MTR), the fastest means of transport to move, although quite expensive, and can be reached in about twenty minutes, Kowloon, a peninsula north of Hong kong Island.

Kowloon is an excellent mixture of old and new, bolder than the face of Hong kong, comprising several neighborhoods, the best known among tourists is undoubtedly Tsim Sha Tsui, at the tip of the peninsula. (Photo 3)

Tsim Sha Tsui is crossed by the famous Nathan Road; heavy sparkling trendy shops, major hotels and restaurants, intersected by narrow lanes, minor children of the famous road, where alternate scenes of everyday life, which then makes this place evocative and fascinating. (Photo 2)

Near this old neighborhood is chaotic and, in striking contrast, the younger East Tsim Sha Tsue, with its modern (and busy) night-club Japanese, and especially its seafront promenade, a pedestrian area where you can attend most beautiful scenery of Hong kong Island. (Photo 4)

Farther north are the districts less frequented, but always worth a visit for the true atmosphere, Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok Here you can visit the many famous Hong kong markets, buying everything from jewels to junk pirated CDs from the goldfish.

Kowloon also offers many cultural attractions, the Museum of Art, with its six galleries, offers a magnificent collection of contemporary and ancient art objects, the Cultural Center provides a concave roof, with its spectacular view of Hong kong.

E 'can reach everywhere easily with the excellent transport network present, taking the MTR, or using the bus.

Do not miss the crossing of Victoria Harbor with the Star Ferry, a short trip that allows it to move quickly from Kowloon to Central, enjoying stunning views. (Photo 1)

USEFUL:

* From the airport is easy to reach every area of Hong kong, the Airport Express train runs every 10 minutes and stops at Central, Kowloon and Tsing Yi, but the prices are quite high and the only way airport transfer costs as much as l ' round trip in one day.
* With the airline Oasis Hong kong Airlines is now possible to travel from London to Hong kong, with only 450 euros round trip (of course fees vary depending on the time, but these days I saw that the figure is more or less this )
