18. 11. 2008 Macau (MACAU)

We are on the ferry that we are reporting in Hong Kong ...
Watching the sea plow quick thought about this last period of my life, past month, from a story gone bad to the loss of my dear friend ... What Krists period shit ... Even though I apparently tried to hide it, actually I was really bad, unfortunately I am used to always keep everything inside, I close my casket as a ...

This trip, however, gave me the right office, I did break a bit 'with the oppressive everyday, I'm recharging the batteries I needed, I needed to breathe fresh air, meet new people, make new adventures ...
I have heard many times: "I made this trip because I wanted to find myself" and I did not understand what I mean, I thought one of those phrases that will ultimately mean nothing. Now I understand!
This morning, after breakfast on the 19th floor of our hotel in Shanghai Street, we headed to the pier to embark for the island of Macau ...

We arrive at 9.15 and insisted on taking the ferry for the 9:30 ... In the end we diverted to that of 10.30 and in the meantime I take the opportunity to make a jump to the post office not far from the harbor, complete with signs written in both English and Chinese, these very useful, almost like a laissez-passer, just the show that immediately show us the right path without sbattessimo us that much ...
Eventually we reach the pier a quarter of an hour before departure ... Who could imagine that taking a ferry here had the same rules of boarding a plane ...

They start many bureaucratic formalities, files left and right, having to fill in, we are almost to the ground ... We are the last to embark ... Just in time!

On board began talking to two, mother and daughter discover that, although they seemed sisters (even if its 12 years and another 40!): Isabelle and Charlotte in Singapore. Among a chat the other end we are left to spend the whole day with them ...
The hour or crossing passes quickly and I immediately hit the bilingualism that still exists here. Chinese and Portuguese! Although, as Nick pointed out, the Chinese, like ivy, are covering all that remains of the Portuguese past ... and happen to see old colonial balconies completely submerged by Chinese signs ...

Along the journey I imagined the navigators of the kingdom of Portugal who landed here 500 years ago ... I wonder what they found really ... what is fascinating Chinese culture ...

Hurry various customs formalities we head straight to Fisherman's Wharf, a disappointingly small amusement park, very fake ... Surrounded by the majestic buildings that house the many casinos, Macau is mainly famous for gambling! Largo do proceed by taxi to the Senate, the main square and along the way ... There were several streets in the center, like Hong Kong sellers of crabs, the birds' nests (good for the skin), the antlers of Peking duck etc..

Very characteristic was the facade of St. Paul's Church, regarded as the finest monument Christian of Asia, though there is only a facade ...

With a bus takes us up to A-Ma Temple, an ancient place of prayer of the 17th century ... On top of which, a little 'how to Polonnaruwa, many pieces were stained with written prayers or wishes on ...
