George Town

Kho Samui left we did a new route to the state and more specifically to George Town, a city on the island of Penang, in the east coast of Malasya, shortly after the border with Thailand. The trip was anything but easy ... lasted approximately eight hours during which we changed about four or five vehicles, but as usual arrived safely!
Reached our destination in the evening, we were a little 'disorientation in the new country ... a country which we now perceived differently, with the profound differences with the Thailndia.
Having seen some guest house, we opted to settle in that proposed to be Jim, always a strange kind of black dress and with a curious cap on his head.
The island of Penang is not very popular with tourists, in fact, does not offer much if we exclude the city of George Town, which retains some interesting building of colonial origin; addition beaches surrounding the island are not exactly impressive especially given that the sea is very dark and not inviting.
In George Town, we spent only a few days, just have time to visit the city, its mosque, its center and a convenience store. Another day we spent exploring the outskirts and the surrounding coast ... in an instant and it was already time to start afresh.

Kuala Lumpur

Back by bus to the other five hours this time in the direction of the capital Kuala Lumpur, a city west decidedly different from those to which we were accustomed. Arrived at the bus terminal we met Peter, one of the managers of a hostel with a bunch of fliers tried to illustrate this to follow. To be honest this was the only so we opted for a solution that required led us like a script in the Chinese quarter of the city. All in all we could not complain about the arrangement did the job, and was even equipped with air conditioning a luxury to which we had given up since time immemorial.
Dispose baggage we began our work with a look at China Town, as usual full of stalls that offer you any type of product, from food to clothing to DVDs and much, much more.

But our goal was reached or the Petronas towers rising in the sky city, which until recently could boast the title of the highest in the world. When we reach one of those goals that we usually see in documentaries we see them hit the live ... the same goes for Petronas, which offer views of the night without a doubt an amazing show, thanks to the play of light that highlights even more the beauty. Photos of ritual and then straight into hostel where we waited a little 'rest after nearly two months of Thailand had lost the pace of errant traveler!

Kuala Lumpur

The next morning we rested properly direct the television tower (Menara) another national symbol, the legs on my shoulder for a healthy climb up the foot of it and bought the ticket we climbed up on top. From here it was possible to have a complete picture of the city and surrounding area all surrounded by a beautiful sunset and as usual from that touch of serenity and calm that you appreciate more the view in front of you.
In the evening we wanted to take a look at the nightlife that Kuala Lumpur has to offer with the only result of the evil we saw that there was nothing within the reach of our pockets. The district is dedicated to fun in a long path illuminated by the lights of bars and music clubs where the boys, in classic Western style, are well-dressed at the door with perhaps his name was added to the list and a little 'money by "invest".
We observe that was not aware of the fact that our journey would, from time to time to give up what they do normally young people on Friday evening but we can assure the game worth the candle.

Kuala Lumpur

The day after we returned again to Petronas to go up on the top, or rather up to the bridge that connects them, a quick peek at the view below and a new earth. Nothing special especially when compared all'interminabile tail that we had to win three sorbitol milleduecento of free tickets: fortunately not paid. We can not, and certainly do not want to shirk dall'ormai famous corner of the kitchen this time, however, the available material is limited to say the least, given that our culinary adventures have always eaten in the same place: Yellow Pavillon. This is a restaurant located in a corner of the neighborhood Chinese particularly popular with tourists from all over the world even if the first night, perhaps for the unusual time in which we used (we have eaten dinner in the night) the place could not be said of some crowded.

One of the pleasant surprises that we gave the city was the Indian festival, an event in our view particularly interesting. At the suggestion of sympathetic Pierino we booked the night alarm. Everything began at three in the morning when a number of Indian indecipherable was poured into the streets for a procession with traditional music and turning to shoot everything from book boxes to say the least malconcie. We were practically the only Westerners present, but certainly we could not make us miss a ceremony of such importance at least in the number of participants. All this was a procession to follow a wagon sbrilluccicante that gives off light from all sides, followed by strictly barefoot devotees.

Back to sleep the next day we waited in the last bus journey through Asia with destination Singapore.
