Two months going through the southeastern Asia... 4th part: Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur
I like to say, and 'stupid, but I remember I do not know what pubblicita':
BREAKFAST: Yangon (Myanmar)
LUNCH: Bangkok (Thailand)
CENA: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Sadly leave the companion Mike at Bangkok where, after a day of shopping, went in the direction home.
KUALA LUMPUR
KL (as called here) and 'the urban agglomeration usually worth every Asian megalopolis.
After 2 weeks in Burma appreciate the fact to find myself in 'civilization' "(although nowadays civilization 'here means having the highest number of McDonald's, Burger King and Starbucks ...) without the danger of tripping in the holes of sidewalks . Although the Yangon and charm of 'a thousand times higher than in
Kuala Lumpur, wander around more than two days, visiting almost zero history of the city', also founded only in the nineteenth century, and the myriad of skyscrapers sprout like mushrooms in the city 'by the end of the world.
On all the Petronas Towers. I admit that impress: almost half kilomentro into two tall towers that have ultra-modern addition to a certain design style Arabic. Fascinating. For 20 minutes. Then, apart from the strange spectacle of seeing a return to work the river (literally!) Of people after the lunch break (in 1 km of offices, in the vertical direction, imagine how many thousands of skilled employees can sit at their little desks .. .), the city 'offers the usual chinatown trasbordante of stalls, with vendor-leech built, ready to sell everything and more'. But nothing to envy to the dear Bangkok.
Conclusion: in
Kuala Lumpur we wanted to come, I did, I turned and I am happy. But I would not have any reason to return.
At least I have one month after ripostao physically hard.
MELAKA
Arriving in
Melaka with the best historical-cultural expectations, for more galvanized by a bombardante pubblicita 'in
Kuala Lumpur where, in the year of tourism (but that ass that I have!), The city' which gives its name to the famous close and 'painted as the pride of Malaysia history.
Fuck. After 3 days in
Melaka then I can not imagine the rest of the country.
Perhaps from a "historical" is a little too demanding and will arrive from Europe is that my standards are a little too 'high', but, I say clearly,
Melaka disappoint me.
Capiamoci, the city is pleasant, but far from what I expected honestly.
Apart from a couple of churches in the seventeenth century (and Quast is old?) And the square rebuilt as the Dutch themselves had designed, the "historic jewel" of Malaysia ends there.
And then, even a violent accomplice tropical shower that lasts for more than 2 days, take advantage of the nice hostel to stay in which to read, sleep and relax on satiety '.
Malaysia and then leave with a clear memory of his mocernita ', cleaning and organization. all things are not easy to find in this part of Asia.
But at the same time have a continent that does not attract me. Un'Asia that I know of Asia.
But here we want to go back to see more and to better understand the Malaysia.
