In the space of four hours or so a bus took us from Kuala Lumpur to
Singapore. We originally planned to spend three or four days in this city state, but insistent voices obtained during our journey we were told that the cost of living is quite high. For this reason we have drastically cut the time and we stopped just two days.
Arrived in town in the early afternoon, we rushed to call one of our fellow ... One of our fellow citizen? Yes! Our Savior by the name of Michele Pavanello and just like us is a trevigiano DOC. Michael is the chef in a prestigious Hotel in
Singapore, and gave us a hand to find accommodation in the city. Right time to move a attimino and take some 'of the new currency and we catch the first available taxi to the hotel to go to Michael. Our good friend was already waiting for us with open arms ... Michael was immediately available and very interesting, that just as we turned half the world by the cook in the most unthinkable. While leading us towards our accommodation, we explained a little how things work in the city, just to give us an idea.
Once in the hotel ... yes, you understand, HOTEL! Do not even remember when was the last time we stayed in a hotel, I mean with a furnished room, hot water, fresh newspaper in the morning, swimming pool and everything else. Well, I was saying, once arrived at the hotel and passed the shock extra luxury, we have the room to deposit their backpacks and here came yet another surprise: good Michele insisted sponsor for our company and wanted to pay the room. More than that could not do. So, what I will say this: anyone can become part of our team, it does not take much ... ah, ah, ah!
Recently Michael has left us, we fell into a deep sleep from which we have just awakened in the late evening. Obviously, given the short time available, we could not spend the night in hotels and so made the shower, we were directed towards the center to munch something. For dinner we chose a sort of outdoor marketplace suggeritoci by Michele, Newton Circus, where we ate well at a relatively low price, and then counted the money we intended to explore
Singapore at night ... as usual look and do not touch, all rooms cost a little 'too much for us, even though the end we found something. The evening ended in the morning, with a long walk from the city center to the hotel to save the money of the taxi.
The second and last day we devoted entirely to visit the city, has everything that can offer the tourist.
Singapore is a city not very large, western reflections, quite rich and very well kept, with lots of green and extremely clean. Other than that do not expect spectacular monuments, historical buildings and so on ... nothing sensational.
As usual do not miss the usual China Town, which in this case, however, deserves special attention, because immersed in the wonderful colonial buildings perfectly restored. In fact it is so orderly and clean not seem even the usual China Town that we have become accustomed to seeing in other states visited ... but really very beautiful!
In the evening we headed for the airport around midnight where we waited to fly to a new country ... actually a new continent, Australia!
