Left Kho Pha-ngan, we direct the discovery of another islet of the Gulf of Thailand. This is
Kho Tao, an island much smaller that that of many of the lines still wild, renowned for its extremely clear waters and make it crystal clear that an ideal destination for lovers of all gi diving. We left the port of Kho Pha-ngan around 10:30 with the boat cheapest we found. It was a sort of ex-vessel adapted for the carriage of people, we took about two hours to bring us a destination. Kho Tao is superlative: It shows the first part made of a wild sea violently beaten by the wind that breaks against the huge, smooth monoliths of the coast, just above these surprising rocks began to develop a rich vegetation. But the island from the best of once arrived at the port, built in a large bay (probably the only bay where you can moor). Here the scenery changes completely and the sea "big" and the wind suddenly stop and leave room for a long white beach protected by a magnificent coral reef. To be fair, the beach is only in the afternoon when the waters retreat at low tide ... in this way in the morning you have more time to sleep and relax (do not even appear !!!).
Landed on the island we have struggled greatly to find accommodation for the night because most of the resort you can rent a bungalow only if you also take a course in diving, or at least some draft ... in effect throughout the island revolves around diving and it is understandable that, especially during high season, giving priority to people who want to spend money to obtain the patent.
The first night we opted for a temporary accommodation with the promise of good hours to get up the next morning and start the search again. And so it was well and we were very lucky because in the space of an hour we had found our house.

Kho Tao really lives up to its reputation: the water is exceptionally clear so as not to seem true. If we also consider that an interesting reef around, it's easy to understand why is considered a kind of mecca for all lovers of diving. Wear mask and tube, one could spend days admiring the beautiful seabed, corals, all the multitude of colorful fish. Sometimes we are not aware of the deep seabed is because visibility is so absolutely perfect and sharp that you could easily find at a depth of three meters and ten ... incredible!
Our days are really on the fly, spent between the beach, endless swimming, exploring the interior and a nice nightlife. In a flash it was already time to leave for a new destination: Kho Samui, the largest island of the Gulf of Thailand.
