Koh Samui island - Thailand travel diary

 

Final goal of the Gulf of Thailand was the island of Kho Samui. Kho Tao parties by boat with a line in two and a half hours we arrived in Samui, via a stop at Kho Pha-ngan. Arrived in the new island, we have to carry a collective taxi to the beach Chao Weng (maybe not you write like that) which grows throughout life. Fortunately, we have taken great pains to find accommodation, although to be honest we had a little 'pipsqueak. It was a Hut, so we call the typical bungalow made of straw and woven palm leaves. The real problem was that inside there were only two beds and we are three. But save some 'money, as usual we have been able to adapt. As per delivery, once supported the suitcases we direct to the beach for a refreshing bath, but the first impression was certainly not positive ...
Where was finished the sea placid and calm that we were now accustomed to seeing in previous islands? And the white beach and smooth? No trace. The sea was rough, the beach semi mountainous and beaten by a wind "arrogant." That disappointment ... we were already ready to make the bags again and leave for a new destination, to the best beaches.

It took a couple of days, or perhaps even less, to understand how it worked the island, but then we were all clear. Kho Samui does not aim so much at sea or on the beach (which is just the outline) but the nightlife and the many SPA (wellness centers that promise to regenerate body and spirit that customer) present on the island. We unfortunately have not been able to take advantage of the services offered by APS, but they have tried to live the best nightlife. Be clear, do not expect local Dj's sophisticated or highly placed, but the fun certainly is not lacking. Every night at least until five in the morning, the music continues to fill the coffers and then between a chat and the other is pulling the seven or eight ... every night ... that you believe is not so easy mica!

In the week spent at Kho Samui, does not know how many times have we seen the sea or even the beach, but beyond the first day when we arrived, we believe that we are gone and no one or two times. We have completely upset our timetable, we went to bed at eight o'clock in the morning we wake up and not even know when I, at times cenavamo unthinkable and perhaps even have lunch. But it was worth it, really! Of course, for no more than a week or you risk and should be used to end up that you will not want to leave!

But it can not rain forever ... All ends well, and so on Kho Samui we had to say goodbye. On the morning of 19-01-2005 the morning (well early too!) We are directed to the port, knowing that we were not only welcoming Kho Samui, but also the whole of Thailand, a country that superb gave us a lot and that will remain long in our memories!
