From Bangkok take a bus at 6 am which leads me, in 6 hours of travel, the port of Chumpon, where she will ship to the island of Koh Tao.

Just two hours of travel and start to see the island, small, collection, green. Its waters are crystal clear and leave guess right now the beauty of the place.

Just come down from the boat to greet a crowd of Biman to work, touts for the resort and the many diving schools on the island.

I can place myself in the crowd, the way that I have before is narrow and crowded, a climb rich internet points, restaurants, pizzerias and souvenir shops.

Rent a scooter and head to the residence previously booked.

I settle in the area of Chalok Baan Kao, a very quiet island, the JP Resort, where I will offer a nice bungalow near the beach.

The island is idyllic, small, collection, quiet and bathed by clear waters and covered with palm trees. The vegetation is lush.

Koh Tao is the smallest island of the archipelago, and the two islands, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, are larger and more tourist island ... the turtle is on the contrary, placid, time passes slowly and despite the large amount of tourism services, continues today to be a very relaxing place to spend a few days in peace, away from the chaos of the city or the confusion surrounding the islands.

A south of the port, there are two bays Chalook Baan Kao and Thian Og Bay (Shark Bay or), where the waters are usually calm and the narrow strip of white sand beaches, flowering trees and coconut palms shading the coast; before a tiny uninhabited island, called Shark Island, is visited by the curious and daring tourists in search of sharks harmless (and there are!).

Farther east is the absolute most beautiful beach of the island, Aow Leuk, a marvelous bay, where at the end of a shoe, the flowery meadow gradually merges with the white sand, to be bathed in the clear waters .

Today the beach is reached via a dirt road, but until recently it reached only by boat, this has allowed the area to be safeguarded.

Going up north to meet the most secluded bays and Mao Tanote Bay Bay, is still always very wild, but always beautiful and fascinating, precisely because their faces seemingly inhospitable.

On the extreme northern tip of the island is Mango Bay, with only two resorts and one restaurant, the tip is only accessible by boat and is a patch of sand surrounded by rocks, the water is always clean and quiet ...

On the opposite side, north of the port, is the longest beach in Sai Ree, covered with numerous, leafy palm trees, is the main route around the 'island, is where you focus all year, most of the tourists , especially the younger ones, and this is the point where property development in recent years has been more evident.

Sai Ree Beach is a succession of restaurants and taverns, where from morning to evening, music and aromas of freshly cooked food floating in the air, charming bungalows face the sea and at night the numerous bars offer an attractive environment dominated by soft lighting, performances with fire, soft music and excellent fish dishes cooked on large grills.

During the day you can spend your time lazing on these beautiful beaches, take the island by motorbike in search of the many lookout points spread a little 'everywhere, to rent one of those old wooden boats (boat taxi) and visit the coast more hidden and wild, or take part in one of the many diving courses and enjoy one of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world.

Before Sai Ree Beach is a beautiful island, Nang Yuan Island, who absolutely deserves at least one visit during your stay in Koh Tao, these are two fairly small oasis, joined together by a single strip of white sand, giving created a landscape evocative and unique.

I remain enchanted by this beautiful and hospitable land, hit by lush vegetation and clear waters, relaxed by a mild climate and friendliness of Thai people that do not betray the expectations.

I know the island, the applicant is a goal in my travels, the refuge, the corner where I hide and I relax when I feel the need, the paradise where I like to go back (if only in thought) in days rain.

Unfortunately, Koh Tao has recently changed its very face, a time reserved and still little known, are becoming more like the nearby Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, more open-minded and lively; increasing invasive housing development along the most famous beaches, as you know Ree, while the more secluded shores are likely to become the next stage of ambitious development for elite tourism.

The hope is that the island tortoise preserve as long as possible its appearance and remains a natural refuge from the noisy modernity, which now seems to reach even the remotest places in the world.
