Another real paradise.. journey to Grand Bahamas

Finally we are ready to tell our cold trip to the Bahamas seem strange but we struggled a bit cold!

GRAND BAHAMA is suitable for those of us who like to live the day around the island :)

 

Bahamas, we are arriving!..

On the morning of December 30, 2007 at dawn left the hotel and head to the airport of La Gaurdia from where we get up in flight to Atlanta from here ... then we get up in the air at a time of Freeport with about 2 hours late. The trip runs smooth and quiet until the clouds are beginning to see the crystal clear Caribbean Sea. Gia 'I felt hot, but we remain glued to the window to enjoy this wonderful view. Fatigue landed on the island was already 'a sweet memory, recharge your batteries, rent a car and we head towards our accommodation to' See Island Resort "of Grand Bahama. Now we see the order and cleanliness that distinguish one island is not just poor eyesight and given the many banks that are so ... X intends a Monte Carlo of the Caribbean even though there glitzy 'very little. The Resort is' very nice, overlooking the sea due to an extensive beach of fine white sand like flour. Given the fact that we were in timeshare with Interval International, staying in a discreet apartment fitted with any appliance you might need, dishwasher, stove, fridge, microwave etc. ... all good, except maybe cleaning. Not exactly the best so that the first night after having already 'unpacked the suitcase in the bed we see that there are many insietti alive who walked on the sheets. Choose to notify the reception immediately change our apartment. We remade the baggage transferred, not far from where we were and now fallen prey to exhaustion.

The following day - December 31, 2007 - begins practically our vacation to the Bahamas. Good hours after breakfast we decide to make the first trip on board a media boat with a boy of the resort at a price of $ 60 including lunch and refreshments. ... Gia'ma lunch? .. Got into the boat, in fact, we and 7 other tourists who eravmo together we realize the lack of something in the final of the fair could be edible. Once off on this wonderful sea, the "captain" decided to stop, throw the anchor and "shopping" for lunch. In fact, it throws into the water equipped with a harpoon and within 20 minutes we had already 'the fridge full of fish of any kind and any color, including two broken megha lobsters ... we stopped on a small island just off the coast by the name "Peterson Cay Natural Park.

The captain sends down the island, and after just 1 minute are already 'in the water to go snorkeling with our underwater camera to capture inseparable How much more' nice to meet you on the sea floor so 'beautiful. Now facing a number of fiery-red starfish, reef fish and vegetation to no end until I get up the sand in a completely abnormal from the sea bottom out ... a great race and I immediately catapulto behind her to photograph and film ... beautiful! Meanwhile our "captain" was off busy cleaning the fish and prepare our lunch. Nien'altro that the bundles of foil in which there was fish, some spice and banana, all wrapped up like cartridges and put to cook over a sort of grid. Delicious! bread, water, and finally a delicious lobster ... they looked like "Survivor" to eat in the feet and hands, but you know the genuine things are always things more 'fair.

Broken once we decide to stop for snorkeling and seeing many more starfish and huge with lots of shells inside the mollusk. We return to the resort just in time to celebrate the New Year ... "Italian" and watch the sun set over the sea, a sky that was red hot to go out on the water as the sea ... a beautiful image, amazing colors ... everything was there what 'that more' than anything we want ... sea, sun, sand. For dinner we decided along with two American boys in the popular boat ride, go to Port Lucaya to eat something and wait for midnight. We eat so much x changes delicious plate of spaghetti and shrimp and pull up at midnight, where a square crowded with locals and tourists alike to toast the New Year with music, dancing and of course, the Bahamas, could not miss the traditional fireworks .

The new year - 01 JANUARY 2008 - begins in the morning, ready for a new adventure. Got in the car we decide to do the whole east coast of Grand Bahama to get to Paradise Cove. The name says it's' all ... a paradise. The thing that most strikes us is' silence. Yes and no were 10 people, the sea was a "table" ... I hear only the morning breeze on your skin ... there weapons of snorkeling kit and throw ourselves into the water where we stay there for a good 2 hours, including barracuda, coral and fish of all All sizes and colors ... but ... more beauty 'really that easy to live to tell.
By now the skin that is detached from our bodies all the time spent in the water we decide to go out and get a beautiful tan in the sun, and what better way than what even to crush even a nice nap?

Along the way back but 'we realize that an annoying itching was beginning to be felt on our skin. Immediately begin to notice some small bubbles and red alarm us greatly. Fortunately the hotel staff tell us what it was only bites moschitos that certainly while we were sleeping so we have to 'say "attacked" without us noticing anything ... in fact we were told that the consequences were noted only after it ... but we saw more 'other feeling

On the way back we stop in a supermarket and bought the place to eat. We found our inseparable friends Spaghetti Barilla! And go! For dinner a nice plate of spaghetti with tomatoes and shrimp ... delicious!. Unfortunately, we realize that while we were eating dinner out was being a real storm. At the time we thought the classic tropical storm that vents for 10 minutes and then off ... instead the "problems" and the surprises were just beginning ....

The next morning - 02 January 2008 - we wake up with the surprise of surprises. A winter wind blowing on the island although the sky was almost clear. We decide not to go for anything in the sea and we decided to make a shopping tour of downtown Port Lucaya looking for some bargain shopping always noting the lack of consistency in the dollar. But the problem 'was that it was difficulty' to stand around with a cotton sweater for the cold that was. Selene was sad ... go to the Bahamas and going around with the scarf ... do not believe it! We decide to run in the afternoon the island for the long and reach up to High Rock where and 'found one of the lighthouses of Grand Bahama.

The clouds in contrast with the colors of the sea make it a wonderful panorama, the only regret was not to be in water to make a nice bathroom.
Returning to the center in other beaches we stopped at once beautiful and still unspoiled, where the vegetation, mangroves, palms which swarms ... FORTUNA BEACH, CHURCHILL TAINO BEACH BEACH. Languages of white sand stretching for hundreds of meters ... there was me, Selene, sand and sea ... what to ask for more '? ... In fact there was something to ask for more' ... the heat!

The next day - 03 JANUARY 2008 - we get up early with the hope that the weather conditions are better than the previous day. Unfortunately they were even worse ... the sky was completely black and looked in vain for where to find a sliver of light. We leave the house even with jeans, sweatshirt and scarf ... but what bad luck! Visit 2 beautiful beaches, perhaps the most 'beautiful island and XANADU BEACH PRINCESS ... what a pity.

Knows' how nice it was to be XANADU under a palm tree in the sun or take a walk to the shore. Only a few pictures, the time to start to shiver with cold and we're right back in the car home ... there were 15 target °!!!!.

The evening we spend in front of the TV trying to find the weather forecast for the next day in hopes that someone might give us some good news ... it was in 1979 that in the area of Florida and the Bahamas there were no temperature so 'low in these first days of the year ...

And here we are telling our last day in the Bahamas, the time and fortunately this morning 'beautiful but still slightly freschino. Heedless of everything '- we mancherebber after 2 days so' so '- we arm ourselves once we get into costume and beach to sunbathe and to take the latest photos. We begin to trace a pattern of our vacation. Naturally beautiful, indeed 2 days of bad weather in the Bahamas, could not cancel the rest of the beautiful holiday.

What about New York and 'I think a goal' in life that everyone must do. I started making me an idea of how it could be thanks to movies and the stories I heard, well! You know what I say? I found even better than I expected, but with a chaotic organization to be afraid, that unfortunately lacks to us in Italy. People were very cordial with us "tourists" ... so 'as the Bahamas, a tropical paradise, perhaps much less "poor" compared to many other Caribbean islands, but still beautiful. When you walk on a fine white sand, or is' immersed in the pristine circandati a neverending 'fish by the colors and shapes' incredible, all the problems that one carries are set aside, all of a sudden The ailments, stress etc ... disappear, or that "paradise is"

That evening, after spending a little 'time at the casino', we return home and begin to prepare for the luggage. Of course, like all the holidays, and 'The most' ugly. Gia 'the mind begins very slowly to return to Italy, cold, and the important work ...' to close within the same bag the memories' beautiful of days spent on holiday ...

E 'come, the time to say goodbye ... the Bahamas already begin' to be a sweet memory. The latest images of this 'wonderful island we observe from the aircraft that brings us back to New York. ... More' and more we move away from the island 'are beginning to thicken the clouds like to testify that the vacancy and' over. From New York we board the flight delta airline always took her back to us in Europe, to Venice. We landed in Venice already makes' account of having arrived in Italy ... fog, cold and rain ... the ultimate crap. We relax waiting for the last journey to Malpensa.
