My second time on the roads of Cuba.. Trip to a splendid country

Second time after seven years in Cuba. I see a country that willingly and that has not changed much over the last time. Also found my old friends with whom I spent Havana unforgettable moments.
Fly with Iberia via Madrid and arrival in the capital. The current exchange rate is around 70-80 cents a CUC (convertible pesos).
Especially the house of my friends is in the full Havana Vieja near Calle Obispo. Alina's family and Esteban, in addition to being a family really available, is a sympathetic one. Sleep there costs 25 CUC for tourists at home, with air conditioning, minibar, needed to overcome the sultry nights of Cuba
We stay four days in Havana and use the house as the basis for our moving.
The sea near Havana is a great alternative to crowded tourist beaches. Playa Santa Maria is only a few minutes by bus from the center of Havana Vieja (Parque Central) for only 5 CUC a / r.
By spending about 65 CUC a day rent a compact car at the Hotel Parque Central agency with which we arrive, after about 4 hours between "highway" (so to speak) and national roads, to Trinidad, via the lovely Cienfuegos.
The road between Cienfuegos and Trinidad is very tricky and full of bends with constant interruptions of animals and wagons of farmers. However, the scenery is beautiful.
In Trinidad staying at a house especially recommended by Alina. Juan and Julia are the owners and their reception really leaves us dumbfounded. Juan is an excellent cook who worked for years as head chef in Europe. His dishes, including lobster, are something special. Also prepares and pinacolada good mojito!
Trinidad is an extraordinary country listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site is beyond our expectations. Very quiet and well kept, full of museums and places where you play forever. Remarkable also the House of Music.
Located on the Ancon Peninsula, with its beautiful white beaches, unique in the southern part of Cuba, offers excellent hiking opportunities on the reef for only 10 or 15 CUC.
Near Trinidad, we visited the Natural Park El Cubano. 2 hours of travel between vegetation and refreshing bath in the waterfall of the Rio Guaurabo.
3 days in Trinidad and leave for Havana, passing this time from Santa Clara, must see the Mausoleum of Che.
The next day's start to the west of Cuba, along the way to Vinales. Leave the main road and take the detour to Bahia Honda and from there to Palma Rubia. The road passes through a mountain pass with a breathtaking landscape of banana trees and tobacco fields. Farmers offer their products along the way and the weather is very warm.
In Palma Rubia pier that awaits us at the sails to Cayo Levisa 10 for only 10 CUC a / r.
The Cayo is simply fantastic, non-touristy and quiet. About thirty guests in the Residence, the only island (Cayo Levisa Hotel) that, with the reasonable price of 72 euros, we can stay in bungalows on the beautiful beach. The accommodations are very comfortable, all with bathroom, air conditioning and minibar.
This island is preferable to many other inflated advertised on all tour operators' brochures, provided that one does not seek the fun made of bars and discos. Who chooses Cayo Levisa makes it seeks its tranquility.
Spend two days here do want to go but like all good things end up.
We leave the island with the usual landing and return to Havana.
The last 3 days we spent on the pristine beaches (Playa Sirena and Playa Paradiso) Cayo Largo doing some wonderful trips on the reef between races, barracuda and fish of all kinds.
To come back in Italy is becoming increasingly difficult!
