I was twice in one week on the island of Guadeloupe, the first for the transfer from the airport to the port and the second for a short visit before returning the aircraft. The island gives its name to a French overseas department here so technically we are not only in France but also in European Union and Euro area as shown by the currency in circulation. After all the land between the Caribbean visit this architectural approach is one that comes closest to our continent. In reality they depend Guadeloupe smaller islands consists of two islands separated by a narrow channel: Grande Terre and Basse Terre. If during the first pit stop we were precisely in Grande Terre and Pointe a Pitre, which is the most important city of the overseas department in the second stop we went, crossing the canal, on Basse Terre. By Dorina and a couple of friends into a modern taxi cruise we took, obviously with plaque strictly French and we went south along a wide and comfortable road. Our tour continued along a mountain road that climbed up and down with the green of tropical forest to a parking lot from where I started our little hike to the waterfall Carbet. The march of rapprochement was possible to admire the waterfall the thick vegetation before offer spectacular views of the water that falls from the lush mountains. Made the trip in about an hour we took a taxi that has brought us down to Pointe a Pitre on Grande Terre, not to the port from where we started but the airport.
