Departure from Manchester and arrived in Cancun after 10 hours of flight.
At the airport are all means of transportation to Cancun or Playa del Carmen (the 2 most well-known seaside town).
I chose Playa del Carmen, fortunately, a small town but provided all with beautiful beaches and roads (the Fifth Avenue in particular) simply describe in one word, amazing!
At Cancun, however the beaches are beautiful but it seems to be in Mexico.
From Playa del Carmen you can organize excursions, agencies are not lacking even in many on the street trying to sell their services. For some sites such as Tulum and Coba it from Playa del Carmen, while other important sites and not miss as Chichen Itza or Uxmal worth having as a starting Merida. The reasons are many. Merida is a real Mexican town, you see the real Mexico, you can turn on the street surrounded only by Mexicans. Then Merida is super economic. They all cost less. Three nights in a hotel for example cost me € 50, another example, the excursion to Chichen Itza is almost half than what it costs from Playa del Carmen. (I paid Playa from € 40, prices of course vary according to the agency where you go).
Merida is approximately 5 hours from Playa del Carmen, and can be reached by bus AD. A ticket for return costs 572 pesos. The buses are new, and it is advisable to cover up because of the high temperature condition. P.S. Even during the trips not joke with the air conditioning.
Do not miss Tulum, located on the cliffs, and the Caribbean Sea as a backdrop on one side and the jungle on the other.
Coba, an archaeological site located in the middle of the jungle. Here you can climb the pyramids and the landscape that can be seen from there (a sea of jungle from above) is worth the trip.
Chichen Itza is the most famous archaeological site. Now the pyramid has also become one of the seven wonders of the world.
Uxmal is unforgettable both for pyramids and the view that you can admire.
There are many other archaeological sites within the Yucatan Peninsula and in other Mexican states. Some site is located in Guatemala. For more info just go to wikipedia.
I focus mainly on archaeological sites, however, Mexico is also the sea, biosphere, rivers, reefs, islands and much.
The hotel posada or possibly a search for it once it arrived at its destination. In Playa del Carmen is spoiled for choice. In doing so besides spenders unless you have the possibility to choose the most pleasing.
Taxis are cheap and secure and it can change their money directly in Messico them.
