Palenque, a heart torn with thick jungle, with a square worthy of little note, which finds its only reason for being in the Mayan ruins that rise a few kilometers away.

With just over four hours of bus travel has led us to the town of Palenque. Maybe not even deserve the name of the city but rather to "paesotto". It is in fact a torn in the dense jungle, a place worthy of little note, which finds its only reason for being in the Mayan ruins that rise a few kilometers away.
Arriving at the bus station and retrieved the luggage, we went directly to negotiate the price of the taxi that we would have to go to see some economic pensions which we were previously procured the address. In fact, the alternatives were limited to two pensions, which are located to face to face. The choice as always fell on the more "economic", a word which rarely is accompanied by terms such as comfortable, elegant and clean. It was a sad room with the plaster that fell to the ground, on which they were best positioned to three beds from which emerged an acrid smell of mold. The bathroom was devoid of its own structure, but consisted of a divider posticcio with the bedroom ... the shower barely worked and seemed to sink must detach from one moment to the wall. Just wanted there, especially when considered that the short journey by bus, possibly with the complicity of the previous dinner, had seriously endangered the health of a large part of "Back to Parallel Zero."
Without wishing to names, you need only know that two thirds of our combricoletta was forced to make a continuous head between the bed and bath, due to a sudden and arrogant attack of diarrhea.

The following day, with the help of two small "pastigliette" we were again standing to face the day. To be honest we preferred to take a day of rest as a precaution. We therefore oziato on the bed, going out occasionally to go and get some drink cooler for a hot combat murderess. In the late afternoon we reached the nearest travel agency to inform the timing and price of a visit to Mayan ruins and the mythical waterfall agua azul all of which we had talked.
Just get all the necessary information, we opted for a visit that focused all in one day, because this allowed us to save some Soldino. Booked the ticket we were directed to the board to make us a shower and then go out to eat something.

Crushed a nap and recovered the most of our forces to the sound of the alarm, we were ready to face a new day by tourists. The van we had reserved was waiting for us before the board, got on board we met our fellow adventure, two Dutch of which it was subsequently added a Mexican family. A short journey retracing the path that had led us to Palenque and here we are at the gates of the archaeological site located in the middle of the jungle. The driver had given us some information on the course within the main concern remains the fact that we were timely in meeting the parking lot at lunch. We had the beauty of four hours to spend between pyramids, temples and squares that the Maya had skillfully constructed and skillfully kept the same time making us still share in the extraordinary culture of this people.
Paid the ticket, we have unanimously decided not to use the guide but to continue the visit in solitary because the guides made available could not certainly be considered economic.
The performance that can be seen walking between the buildings of those who do not easily forget, even dictated by the environment into which these buildings stand. We were in the middle of lush jungle made of high trees and features a moisture nothing short of suffocating. Certain that among all the places that were just in the jungle had to decide to stabilize the Maya?!
Climbing the steep and high steps we subtracted as years of life and liters of sweat, in the usual sol lion already at nine o'clock in the morning was nothing short of hot. Unfortunately due to lack of funds about two thousand temples remain hidden in the jungle waiting to be brought to light, for the site is revealed quite substantial, which has forced us to take the time to meet and agreements with l ' driver. After wandering among the aisles of a building that stood at the entrance of the town we were perched on a hill to reach the summit where a temple was situated still partially surrounded by dense vegetation. Faithfully follow the signs along the path then we gathered in the main square of the city characterized by three huge buildings facing each other. This is inevitable temples and private residences to house the priests and people of high rank. It will be the fact that people were for "important" the fact is that we have given up on a scale for a restricting ourselves to the highest of the three, the one that offered a better view over the town.
Exhausted and thirsty had come forward to meet the driver not before a quick visit to the museum located at the site and un'immancabile stage the cafeteria for a healthy and always welcome coffee break. The driver was waiting for us in the parking punctual as a Swiss watch, loaded the passengers had taken the race to achieve the second objective of the day.

In just forty minutes we reached the falls of Mi Sol Ha (or something like that), but here the driver was immediately concerned about at the meeting. We were given only fifteen minutes, just the time to disassemble the van and reach the center of the waterfalls. It was possible to slip between the wet rocks to the point where the water, favoring the force of gravity, forming a rich and fascinating as interminable scia intended then to throw himself with all his vehemence in the pond below. Time is the tyrant, but we knew that the best was yet to come then taken place in our vehicle and the doors were closed again on the road to the waterfalls of Agua Azul. This time the journey was long but definitely more beautiful seen from the window that it was possible to admire green hills and valleys as far as the eye where vegetation undisputed and the cows were from the master. It was high time we have been waiting since morning: a regenerating dip in the clear and well-known waterfalls of Agua Azul, nor the time to park that we were already with their feet in water. Unfortunately, like any tourist destination worthy of respect was crowded by a flood of people on board but the driver, we have gone further north to a point where most tourists do not push. He was absolutely right man van, at that point the water was calm and it was easier to dive, not the facts we repeat twice because, after spending a day walking in the sun, not some perfumed water roses. Have enough minutes in the water and we were like new, we have recovered and dried lying comfortably on a bench to enjoy the cool shade offered by the majestic trees lining the waterfalls. To our great regret, because we had found the peace of the senses, we realized that it was now time to walk and leave the bench and we cascades down to the parking is not before a stop for the usual refresco. Again all in coach even if the departure was not immediate because of the delay of some components of the group which, strange to say, we were not us. With some 'delay started the descent towards Palenque, just time to get into the board and discover that the promises were made by a shower upon our return was impractical to say the least (given the conditions of the bathroom). Inforcati backpacks, we again headed for the station because, a few minutes, was leaving the bus that we would have conducted this time in Merida.
