This is one of my first trips abroad, a few steps from the Italian border, but already immersed in a culture and a landscape very different.

Austria of nature (other than Austria Vienna underground) means surrounded by mountains, hills surrounding the villages, towns and welcoming human scale.

Innsbruck is a quiet and wonderful, just cross the bridge over the river (which has a unique silvery color) will enter the old city and very colorful in style Tyrolean houses with facades painted flowers on balconies, porches marble rounded shapes concealing pubs and shops.
The most famous building, the Goldner Adler, a hotel-restaurant but more of a historical building that everyone stops to admire and photograph before reaching the main square, where the focus is to capture the "Golden Roof "bizarre and striking a building resembling a strange balcony, which, despite its diversity from everything else blends perfectly with the architecture of the square.

Difficult to resist the temptation to enter one of the many Bierhaus to taste the dish of the day and of course ... a nice glass of cold beer!

Going up by cable car are just a few minutes the tops of the mountains surrounding the city, during the trip may have the best views of Innsbruck, which is collecting and curled up around the banks of river.
Once you reach the top, the scenery is fantastic ... green fields, grazing cows and mountain huts with panoramic terraces.

The next day, chasing after the Austria of Mozart in his hometown: Salzburg!
Only two and a half hours by car and saw that everything changes again .. the landscape is softened and the architectural splendours of the city's more reminiscent of Vienna and Tyrol.
In Salzburg the music is everywhere, street artists performing at each corner and of course the notes of Mozart to be the greater, the city is large enough compared Innsruck but not stress, is so orderly and quiet ... with no traffic ... parking lots are located immediately without problems .. and although there are hundreds of people silence reigns supreme ... interrupted only by the violins in the street. Looks like a charm!

The birthplace of musical genius is now open to the public and can be very interesting to visit mainly because it is a classic example of costumes, with original furniture and tapestries.

In shop windows overlooking the red color ... dell'incarto of famous chocolates that are now a bit 'everywhere, the Mozarkugeln .. spheres that enclose a core of marzipan .. and selling sold (not exactly cheap) packages in the most bizarre and varied.

And then you go up again ... with a kind of train you scale the hill to reach the fortress, from up here you see the whole city including the park and the rose garden of Mirabell, who will be our mid-afternoon. Salzburg is a city awfully elegant! Strictly perfect on every corner!

And it is time to return to home .. leave the room in our comfortable Gasthof Innsbruck to resume the journey home. Along the way, just past the Brenner Pass, we stop a few hours in the lovely Sterzing / Sterzing, South Tyrol, Austrian and very little Italian, despite being across the border.
