Back in Austria after 18 years. Departing from Rome we stopped off at the hotel at Mestre Venice: very comfortable and elegant, with internal car parking and in front of the bus stop in 15 minutes takes us to Venice. The next day, Saturday 8, leave for Austria: Villach destination. We booked an apartment at a FAMILIEN RESIDENZ Warmbad, the spa on the outskirts of Villach, immediately after the border TARVISIO. According to the center of Carinthia, after the capital Klagenfurt, Villach is a delightful little town along the river Drau. Starting point for interesting excursions: in addition to the lakes Wörthersee, OSSIACHER, Faak also beautiful Salzburg (180 km), does not fail to visit the interesting HALLEIN salt mine. A beautiful one hour trip by funicular railway and REISSECKBAHN: a m.2.300 you walk 5 km on a narrow gauge railway highest in Europe.
