The path to San Candido> Lienz (Austria) is one of the most famous and visited by lovers of two wheels (with pedals) is also a very easy path for those who, like us, the children in tow. The route is mostly downhill towards Lienz. The road is all paved with a few crossings on public roads and some crossings of level crossing (without barriers). The directions are very good (do not lose davero ..!). San Candido initial treatment (starting from the station) takes place on city streets. In the initial part of the actual path we crossed a major agricultural vehicle (tractor) that is very piacuito to Matthew but that forced us to approach the cycle of the road (not just going slowly). The landscape of the trail is very suggestive and
for different sections completely surrounded by woods. Another element which is not bad when there are children
are the numerous playgrounds located along the route. The track features an array of dining options and support for bike maintenance. One of them (rest area) is a must and it is after 13 miles from San Candido. It 's the most delicious and fun to stage all the way: the factory of the legendary biscuits Loacker (Loacker that goodness, but goodness Loacker ..!). Of course we stop for a stop at the store where we fill our bag with various sweets and biscuits (partially eaten during the ride). We rented two City Bike (15 € each), one with a child seat (3 €). A seat may be useful alternative to the cart trailer to use as door parcel at the time of stopping the biscuit factory. To cover the 40.83 km took us 4 hours (cruising speed between 10/15 km / h) with numerous short-term to take pictures and a longer (obviously) to the Loacker. For the return you can easily take a train from Lienz leading to the train to San Candido. We opted for this solution (by train) but left the bikes at the recovery point at the train station in Lienz (service offered by the charterer at a cost of 4 €, 5 €, the price of train ticket only for the bike). In the two stations we noticed that the loading and unloading of bicycles is very "crowded and chaotic that we highly recommend the" recovery point bike. " The town of Lienz is rather small and nice to visit (not a must), but especially useful for a last snack before returning to San Candido.Alla railway station S. Candido is free parking. At the beginning of the pedestrian street in the center there is a parking fee.
