Here I am in Central Europe ... finally the holidays! This year with a friend decided to visit the three capitals on the Danube ... feasible in a week because it is very close and well connected. Flight Dublin to Bratislava in about 3 hours in the airport arrival and Slovakia at 18, which at first glance seems anything but an airport .... Eurolines bus station Sudbahnhof direction of Vienna, where a few metro stops you already in the center (€ 7.70 € 1 per bag ...) and we are in a Oretta in Vienna, where he quickly note the difference from Bratislava, 50km seems to go from one end of the world: the city clean, rich, architecturally perfect, lively but peaceful at the same time, one of the best cities to live in fact. The city has almost 2 million inhabitants, but the attractions are almost all in the historic center, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, so basically a giant open-air museum! The day is beautiful and a pleasure to walk around the city ... visiting all the main attractions: the giant palace Hofsburg, Parliament, the Rathaus (City Hall), the Burgtheater, Stephansdom (St. Stephen's Cathedral), Karlskirche The Schloss Belvedere, Prater (the beautiful park near the Danube) and the 'Hundertwasser, the brilliant colored house, the work of the' artist Hundertwasser ... spectacular!
Vienna we liked a lot, it's a very quiet town, where you have that sense of peace that one can hardly see in other cities, and is easily visited on foot (though the metro will reach everywhere in a short time) and wherever you revolutions there is always something to see, not only for its famous monuments, but because of the architectural style that features a simple building or a church ... truly unique.
ps ... do not forget to try the famous Sacher cake ... delicious!
