Hello everyone, I'd tell you my experience in Bosnia! I won a trip with some of my friends for 5 days and 8 April, we started from Turin Caselle Assigned Mostar.
The airport in the Bosnian town is small, there was only one plane, our rendezvous, and many hostesses we waited almost glad to see new faces. Now we took the bus that took us to the hotel (we were a group of about 100 people divided into 2 buses), Hotel Ero, a good standard 4 star hotel that jars a bit of all the old houses, destroyed by war, with, on the walls, still signs of the shots.
The old town of Mostar has been partly rebuilt after the war, the center is small, cozy and very characteristic which passes through the Neretva river, the main attraction of the small town is a beautiful bridge that connects the two parts of the city and that has the meaning of unity, brotherhood and friendship, the old stone bridge was destroyed during the war just to break this bond and the new bridge is a faithful reconstruction. During our afternoon in Mostar we visited a music school, the headmaster welcomed us and invited us to listen to some talented students who played the piano or the violin, as in a strange city desolate, sad and dispersed have the opportunity to study certain talenti.L 'environment is rocky, a little green and gray so (perhaps the fault of the cloudy weather which made it even + sad) kids playing on the porch of a house destroyed, people stare at us like we were alieni.La evening it rained and we have not traveled far from the hotel, we went to a BARETTINI.
April 9, 2008: In the morning all by bus, it's off to Sarajevo, and desert landscapes sad few scattered houses. Before reaching the town we stopped near the airport where they showed us a tunnel under the runway, built during the siege of Sarajevo by locals as the only escape route and to bring food inside the city and resources. The hotel was not right in the middle but it was quite beautiful (Grand Hotel), first we had lunch, then took us to the city center where we visited a school of art and an exhibition organized by the students, even there we met Dean explained to us a bit how they worked and what did the courses ragazzi.Una time we went out in the main square where our guide told us some things on people's lives, the different ethnicities and religions living together, we visited a beautiful Orthodox church and a Catholic church, a place that really impressed me is the place where the attack occurred then began the first world war, there are small glass cases in the walls of nearby houses with pictures and written to remember. + later left us a little free and we kicked off the shopping, the shops are the classics of a European city, to eat a very elegant shops, the prices are very low (eg Converse are half that us) ah about Mark and the money is worth € 0.50 cents.
That evening we attended a meeting at the hotel, with some local people that we have talked about the problems facing their country, politics, religion and security.
April 10, 2008 Still on the bus for another 2 hours with destination Tuzla, still clouds and rain, yet gloomy landscapes, still houses destroyed and lakes for a while! beautiful small lakes and little polluted that people fishing.
The hotel this time we have a little disappointed ... (Hotel Tuzla) a huge 11-storey hotel with a sort of shopping mall on the ground floor near the lobby, a little vecchiotto but you adapt ... was a 10 minute walk from the center, then after a long lecture and a video on young people in Bosnia and decide to set off the main street and visit, we discover that the city is virtually alone in the street, the square of salt (salt just means Tuz because millions of years ago was covered by the sea and today it is important for the production and trade of this mineral) and some houses. That evening after dinner we go out and go to your music and take a beer in a cute room in the attic of a building, good live music, but unfortunately at eleven musicians decide to withdraw, and after having sung (to mercy) "Laura did not there is "of Nek in perfect Italian close everything, so we decide to change the local pub and go to the Disco" Rome "where they dance a little, we are together and have fun, then all to the hotel to" rest "and prepare in spirit to the day + beautiful and more intense throughout the journey.
