A day dedicated to the discovery of Rovinj.

Departure at 08.15 am from the port of Ravenna, with the fast hydrofoil company Emilia Romagna Lines, arriving at about 11.00 in Rovinj, returning in the evening.

The town of Rovinj, situated on a rugged coastline south of the Lim Fjord, in Istria. It's not a very big, because it counts less than 15,000 inhabitants, a couple of hours are enough to see things more important and interesting from the tourist point of view: the Balbi Arch, built in 1680 is the ancient port city, the Venetian-style clear, the Church of St. Euphemia was built in 1736, the Clock Tower and the beautiful harbor.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of Rovinj beaches, as the coast is rocky, but the sea is very nice and the water is clear.
All residents are fluent in Italian, as in force bilingualism, all reported double-words in Croatian and Italian, a bit 'as we in South Tyrol.
Chapter currency: the European Union and the euro are not well seen by many Croats, and then you have to change a little 'euro in kuna, because our currency is not very accepted, I used as an office of exchange: the Finland bars (I was advised by the locals), which besides serving the usual drinks, also provides this service.
In conclusion Rovinj is worth visiting. In one day you can see it well and also be able to dive in its clear waters.

History: Founded probably from 'ancient population of the Histrians, assumed importance under the Romans, under the name of Arupinum. It belonged for several centuries to the Venetian Republic, before falling into the hands of Napoleon, and subsequently under-Austro-Hungarian empire. With the end of World War I, Rovinj and Istria became Italians until 1947, when they were ceded to Yugoslavia.
