A "Road Trip" is a journey by car, sometimes not designed or improvised, or a trip that involves sports games away from home, and then, including a trip by car, regardless of stopovers (source: wikipedia).

Road Trippin 'is the title of a song by Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's part of their seventh studio album, Californication (1999). The song tells of a journey along the Pacific Coast Highway, where the singer Anthony Kiedis, guitarist John Frusciante and bassist Flea "surfin 'in Big Sur after the return of rusciante
in the band.

Our Road Trip is summed up well with the initial verses of the song by RHCP:
Road trippin 'with my two favorite Allies (Catherine & Matthew)
Fully loaded we got snacks and supplies (in camera stores were not lacking)
It's time to leave this town (Rome)
It's time to steal away (there are the just slipped away)
Let's go get lost (we got lost in a conscious way)
Anywhere in the U.S.A. (ovvimente not so far)
