An unforgettable true, we made some trips to Croatia from Slovenia. On one occasion, we visited the castle of Veliki Tabor, near the eastern border with Slovenia. The castle is surrounded by hills, narrow roads in the fall, rise and climb up the winding way. but the castle, the particular form, is worth it. From there we headed to Zagreb, choosing a course different from that of the progress, which runs continuously along the border, so, just to change the landscape. Indeed, to our right opened a large area mostly flat, while they were left contiunue hills and lush. But the real surprise was to get, almost by chance in Kurnrovec, the village that gave birth to Josip Broz, or Marshal Tito. At the edge of the new city you can visit the old, because it is a beautiful village which is an outdoor museum, with the former home of the blacksmith, the weaver, the carpenter, the miller, and more, with furniture and costumes. triumphs over all, the house where Tito was really born. We left for Zagreb, where we have unfortunately only a short walk there is at least possible to get an idea of the city very positive, full of shops and people crowding the main streets.
Another trip took us to visit Istria Pula, Rovinj and Porec. We crossed a road is not officially recognized as a motorway, but pay in general and the Croats gave us the impression of wanting to earn from tourism, but they were not particularly hospitable. We have been too little to say this is true, but in both boundaries we have crossed, we had exactly the same perception ... of coldness and lack of hospitality. At Pula amphitheater gave me great and unexpected emotions. Perhaps because they come from Rome and the Coliseum does not stop being excited, I did not expect this reaction and instead here is that way! we did a walk in the city, which is not really bad. Porec and Rovinj is lovely too. Meanwhile, and wonderful walks in both, the characteristics of streets, the view and the vitality that animates them in this time of year more enjoyable. The Basilica of Euphrasius, however, with its beautiful Byzantine mosaics, second only to those of Ravenna, however, deserves a separate vote, definitely high.
For this occasion, our meeting with Croatia is over, but not our desire to return to see more and really try to meet its inhabitants.
