As always the trip is completely "do-it-yourself". In this brief report, I will try to give useful information for the stay in Copenhagen, while avoiding the historical comments can be found in all the guidebooks.

Trip
Organized on the Internet, through Expedia and Air One. I purchased separately flight and hotel because I found a good offer for the Air One flight from Rome to Copenhagen, while I bought the hotel on Expedia.

Hotel
We were at Comfort Hotel Esplanaden (http://www.comfortinn.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=DK007) Comfort Hotel chain. I must say that the price-quality ratio is very bad for a room for 3 nights without breakfast, we paid € 400. But I assure you that I have tried other solutions on the internet but without much success. The hotel is located in the north of Copenhagen: is located near the Little Mermaid, near the Royal Palace to 3 bus stops from the city center. The area is not well served by cafes, restaurants, pubs ... ... is a local area "in" and the few local authorities that there are not cheap (and for saying in Copenhagen means that prices are prohibitive!)

Public transport
Perfect. From there the M2 metro line. There are two lines of the metro in Copenhagen, but there are also many trains that make the urban routes. Not to mention the bus lines (particularly those with the suffix "A" routes that carry out very long and scenic).
Prices: A ticket for 2 zones costs 20 DKK and lasts 1 hour (you can do all of us who want change in metro-bus-train within the 2 zones).
With 2 zones are within the city of Copenhagen. From the areas up to 3 and then you pay 30 DKK. There are tickets deu cumulative 10 runs for 2 areas that cost 125 DKK and are very convenient because you can use the strip of 10 tickets in two people.
Do not do the Copenhagen Card or longer season tickets unless you intend to stay long in the city. Public transport pass through the night but if I remember correctly, after a certain time you pay a little 'more.

DKK
The Danish Krone has a change equal to 7.40 DKK = € 1. You can change money at the airport or in the numerous exchange offices or banks. Beware of deals often nonsense stratospheric changes but changes are "buying crowns" and not sales and high commissions hide unless you change a lot of money. Council also levies by credit card through the local ATM.

Credit Card
Changed little, the credit card is taken everywhere. Use this time is the only way to have fixed exchange rate and no problems with cash. Attention only to a few smart, especially in town: apply without tell you, the commission on the final price if you pay by card. You ask first. To that props do not recommend to go to Café Europa, Amagertorv 1st On account of DKK 96 have applied almost DKK 6 committee ... I indicated to Mastercard, is an incorrect attitude that you expect from a country that has a good character and professionalism unmatched.

Climate
In August, we found 18-20 ° C daytime and 14-15 ° C at night. It has rained 2 half days and we always wind (seems to be a constant in Copenhagen). Always bring an umbrella, even if you see a splendid time. The weather can change quickly, VERY quickly!

Language
The English speak all, even the old to 80 years. Television broadcasts in their original language with subtitles in Danish, and then everyone learns (not wanting to) English. We should take cue ...

Hazards
I have not really seen. There is some drunk imbecile in the evening that perhaps makes the idiot, or Piscia alleys. I have seen several in central Copenhagen, many were to be honest British ...

Cost of living
Outside logic. E 'a city (but I would say a country) very expensive. It always pays and it pays pretty salty. Some numbers: a Carlsberg beer (1 pint) 45-55 DKK, a coffee with a sweet 55-65 DKK, lunch (one plate with drink) 80-110 DKK, dinner (in Italian!) 150-200 DKK, Museum entrance 60 DKK. To eat there do not recommend to go in beautiful risoranti Danish are all nouvelle cusine, you pay no less than 80-90 euros a head. Go in pubs or cafés: a lunch, there are special menus for about € 15 you can eat "typical" arrangiatevi dine in cafes or pubs. There are also two "special" they do offer buffet (see below).

Offers Buffet
If the evening (or day of course) do not know where to go and eat there to point out two places where you can Copenhgen very saziarvi, eating a buffet. Usually the offer is very large in the city center: many restaurants make the package price but let me tell you that the best (also known as Danish residents) is Riz Raz (Kompagnistrade 20): The evening buffet offers a 69-to-head with DKK so many dishes all excellent and fresh. There is a lot of people (many of the post) and of course you can also order the paper (usual price of Copenhagen). Other local Samos (Skindergade 29) greek restaurant where a buffet is excellent and even great Greek menu (between 99 and 120 DKK). It is worth it.

Smørrebrød
E 'for the typical Danish lunch. A slice of bread that is placed smoked herring, shrimp / eggs, lumpfish roe caviar, salmon ... in short, whatever you want. The rye bread is (usually) and the cost varies greatly: from DKK 50 to 110 depending on the place and stuffing. Is apparently a snack, but the consistency of the toppings will satisfy you. Attention to the flavors all very determined, so if you do not like the taste of fish marinated "opt for the meat.

Nyhavn
And 'the ancient port of Copnhagen, very beautiful and characteristic. Turn what you like, drink a beer in one of several local, but not eat. The prices are high and they are tourist traps. If you want to do a tour in the canals of Copenhagen with a boat. I point out the only tour that the tour guide in Italian: it is called "Linda" and party every day at 17:45 Nyhavn quay. Found near the pier a girl / lady with the Italian flag and hat with tricolor for the sale of tickets (€ 15 each. Even take the Euro).
The tour lasts 65 minutes and allows you to easily see the city view from the channels. Very nice. Attention because in pieces where the channels are open, the wind Bagner you very much! In any case, the boat also has a covered quini and you should have no problems even in case of rain (possible!)

Breakfast
Breakfast is very difficult off-center. The bar (ie the Danish café open very late and no one seems to be interested in breakfast if not the Irish pub!). I would suggest a good place: it is called Amadeus - Store Kongensgade 62. You can have breakfast with a coffee and a cake (made in their bakery) and most can also be taken in the morning (around 8). I will point out why breakfast before 10 out of the central zone was very difficult. And at the hotel asked us for DKK 115 a head ...

Gite
