for our traditional summer trip this year we decided to return to France, and visit what remains, namely the north-west especially, but especially Normandy, Brittany and the Loire .... if only because being a fond of the 2nd World War, had the opportunity to see where it landed on D-Day and all the remains of the allies who fought against the Germans. First stop is a visit to Tours, and all that surrounds the city is revealed to us a quiet place of passage, although its cathedral is really beautiful! Nearby proves very interesting is the castle of Chenonceaux, a beast of a castle that practically takes up more of the greatness of the little village! The castles of the Loire are so many really ... and we plan to visit at least to someone like Ussé and to Villandry. The first, I liked it as it is built ... Gothic style, with pretty blue towers (which is also my favorite color!) to Villandry very nice not only for its shape .. but also for its gardens, well kept and very nice maze, in which nearly m'impazzivo to get out! is the time to visit the capital of the region .. Nantes, our goal was to see more castles and churches as possible .. and here we have to choose because the city offers a high number of churches (the best cathedral of St. Pierre) and the castle, although the castle of Chambord, apprestermo we see, we like much more. . It is also easy to guess why eheh! Located just outside the village, the castle seems perfect as it was built, and seeing from above we also have a fantastic view, just from a symptom of wealth.
Let finally the Loire to enter Britain, the western side of France .. who welcomes us with a strong wind and freezing cold ... welcome to the ocean! Our program includes a visit to practically everything, except the larger cities, Rennes and Brest, in fact we have no intention of going into town, but enjoy little village little village hunting in the region ... which are the various lighthouses on the coast and of what they offer in particular small town! Quimper is an exception ... but only because Dad is a fan of churches, you will miss a practice! now we focus only on countries with Max. 1000 inhabitants .. Locronan is another of these, a village nearly hehe, that gives you the feeling of extreme peace, where everything goes flat without any thing that twists the everyday lives of people. The area of lights west of Brest is really how I have imagined .. villages where the only attraction is the giant lighthouse, complete with menacing sea .. Having asked and always will be a beacon from within, I had the test as that .. and then does not live there ever, ever! ! Must really like the solitary life to keep them, but because it is a highly responsible role, and just the thought of doing all those stairs to climb, I already passed the desire!
I can not wait to arrive in Normandy ... the journey proceeds forced to roam the coast between the villages of fishermen and a storm after another, finally arrive at Arromanches and Longues after the close .. to admire the remains of tanks, batteries of cannons, machine guns and trenches of the famous D-Day .. what a show! I've always dreamed of seeing that I'm not in the skin ... and I imagine what happened that famous June 6, 1944 ...
Our journey should end here ... should say why Going back to our homeland, while we're happy to come back in Mount Saint Michel ... is always great to see the tide come and go, confident that nature is really weird! A town that is only accessible at low tide, and vice versa can not miss if you do not want spronfondare closer, but still worth a visit just for its abbey which towers over the city .. one more day I'd say it was well spent before returning!
