In my first visit to Paris I left alone by train from Tuscany at the time that led straight to the Gare de Lyon. The station was waiting for my journalist friend who had arrived in Pordenone in the Capital a couple of days. We lodged together in a hotel room in the district of Pigalle. You can imagine my curiosity nell'aggirarmi every night in the streets of the neighborhood to "red light" in Paris, I was 17 and everything seemed unreal among those sex shops, night, and music halls. The afternoon wandered through the city to banquet dining hot dogs along the street or in a fast food restaurant. Walked through the city, the streets along the Seine and Bistro. The gray days we preferred to attend the Centre Pompidou to browse library books or go up the escalators that climb the pipes futuristic building. The evening was a fixture on the sporting event that was held at the Palasport De Coubertein. We moved easily by Metro. Once we went in the district of Saint Denis, I found a place of perdition and sex, with streets full of prostitutes and squalor. My friend who was a few years older than I left for a bit for the service of one of those ladies and I found myself alone in this mercinomio sex. One morning we visited the Louvre but then I had a cultural background that would allow me to appreciate neither the museum nor the rest of the city. Despite a week-seed "bums" in which I was careful to spend the little money I had available, I happened unusual. The organization of the sports event that we were following gave us an invitation to a reception hosted by Mayor of Paris at that time was none other than Jacques Chirac. We were housed in a sumptuous room of the Hotel de Ville, the City Hall of Paris, along with international delegations and accredited journalists. Chirac was not there but his deputy who was the hostess offered us a sumptuous refreshments. After days of fasting could stuffing!
Other times I returned to Paris, obviously with the available money and quiet, but I never had another opportunity to be received at the Hotel de Ville. Leaving Paris does not re-entered directly in Italy but went on alone to Belgium (see its route).
