A travel in France among half-timbered houses and Alsatian wines
We were in Germany in the Black Forest, a DIY trip from April 25 to May 1 of 2008 made us know that the beautiful home of cuckoo clocks and not only that, but being a short walk from France and not visit the neighboring Alsace, which in some ways reminds me of the designs of fairy tales I read as a child, it would turn into a regret unforgivable because we missed the opportunity to see with our own eyes the charming Eguisheim, Colmar Kaysersberg, Riquewihr and Ribeauvillé, towns a few km from our stay at the Gästehaus Pension Faller Buchenbach in German, the city that, in addition to their distinctive architectural appearance and consists of half-timbered houses that look like favors, they gave us a way to travel even in the great wines of the world 's Alsace. Everything was done the day of 27 April with the first destination Eguisheim really a fairy country, with its half-timbered houses, its colors, its small narrow streets that wind concentric around those who are still the center of country, the square, its fountain, the church, the small clubs, etc.. Then Colmar, with its old town and its Little Venice, with its colorful half-timbered houses that are reflected on the canal boats with tourists today journey from his nose upwards to admire the magical environment that surrounds them. To climb, always close to the Franco-German border, we visited Kaysersberg, Riquewihr and Ribeauvillé three towns a few miles apart, less fairy in Eguisheim but equally worth a visit, either for the corners that are discovered, for the nests of storks on rooftops, for biscuits or want for the inevitable Alsatian wines, all good reasons to leave us a beautiful memory of walking in their alleys, to compose this environment where there is also magic '... the absence of cars, or almost always, but a few. For those who decide to visit this part of France, fought over by Germany and France, but now belongs to the latter even if this is the strong German roots, not to be missed of all is the town of Eguisheim then the largest Colmar, where we advise you to engage in the historic center, especially walking along the Lauch the stretch of Rue de la Poissonnerie and then also in the areas between Rue de Turenne and Place de 2 Février, etc.. Everywhere along the gentle ups and downs on this hillside are vineyards, vineyards and more vineyards, those branches that give good Alsatian wine, tasting at one of the many beautiful wineries in the area where it is easy to find a bar in their backyard to relax before a nice glass of Pinot or a classic Gewurztraminer or a fresh water ... for teetotalers. Good trip. Wanda & Giancarlo
